Psalm 94:1-11

Have you ever noticed how when life's not going our way, many times we have this tendency to focus, more than usual, on us and our circumstances? We seem to zero in on how we've been wronged or hurt and we want whatever our situation is to get taken care of. That's kind of the feel I got from the psalmist as he starts out in Psalm 94...but as he lets off some steam, his attitude and mindset change. And by the time we get to verse 8 the focus shifts. The psalmist is now looking at and directing our attention toward God, reminding us of His greatness, control and sovereignty. I love these words, "He who teaches man knowledge--the Lord--knows the thoughts of man, that they are but a breath" (vs.10-11).

So what do verses 8-11 tell us about God? How can we draw on and use these verses the next time we're in a tough situation? Tami W.

One phrase that has been with me recently, especially as I was thinking about the life of Abraham is that I need to focus on the promised circumstances not the present circumstances. God is in control of every aspect of my life and He is a good God. He is not going to allow things to happen to me that are not ultimately for my benefit and for His glory. Those are the promised circumstances.

Because He has given me His Word I have the responsibility to read it and use it to live.I want to mature as His Will unfolds. I don't want to be a fool. God doesn't make junk. So I will trust the way He made me to be. His Word always brings me back to His Creative ability. How Awesome God is. There is no one like Jesus Who is the Great I AM. He is faithful in keeping promises and His judgements are sure. I pray He will lead all people to heaven.

I think we are normal as the Psalmist is. It is ok to tell God how we feel. He knows our hearts and motives. Sometimes God is the only one we can tell our feelings to. He wants us to come to Him in all things. He is our comforter and so much more!! Our responsibility is to realize we are HERE only temporaily. It is not easy HERE at times. God knows this.

I know a person who had a vision. That person was shown the whole world as God sees it. The understanding that person came to or was shown and recieved was how easy it was for God to deal with all things concerning the world and all the people in it. So its not one thought of man that is as a breath its all the thoughts of mankind that are as a breath. Sometimes you gotta wonder why He even cares. Then Jesus proves He does.
