Hebrews 11:1-22
We get a wonderful description of faith right off in Hebrews 11. Then, we're shown (maybe I should say reminded of) story after story of ordinary people who had extraordinary faith. Did you notice the significant contributor Abraham is in this chapter? And Sarah is there as well.
So what did you see about faith from Hebrews 11:1-22? How can we use Hebrews 11 to boost our faith today? Tami W.

Awesome remarks people! Thank you for studying God's Word to help me grow in understanding and think wise thoughts.
It's so simple....faith is believing God - taking Him at His word. So why do we fear? ("Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." Hebrews 13:5), why do we worry? ("Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life..."Luke 12:22). Believe what He says, He WILL do as He promised. We must get to know His word so we can know the promises.

We've learned that without faith, we can't please God. We also know that faith comes from hearing the Word of God. Therefore we can conclude that when we read and hear the Word of God, we please Him. So for us to feel that reading God's Word is not important, we are in error. Let's make a difference in this world like the Hall of Faith members did in the bible days.
Faith is more about believing than it is about our feelings. Sometimes thats hard for me because I get the two reversed. But I am learning that when my feelings won't sustain me, sound doctrine will because one rests on my emotions but he other rests on the eternal Word of God.
I never noticed before that it says God wasn't ashamed to be called their God.
I want to be a person he is not ashamed to be my God because of my faith and the attitude that results from it.
I love Hebrews 11. Faith is a funny thing. Like verse 1 says, it is believing something we can not see. I think of my own life, of how I had to choose to trust God and His ways or mine. Trusting and following God's ways are absolutely hard and amazing, but so worth it!!
Can you imagine Noah?? Wow that man had faith!:) He trusted God ALL those years, and was made fun of, and still continued to obey! Wow!! What an example. I would just encourage us all to continue to trust God daily no matter what comes our way. We need to keep our eyes on God and not on the things that keep us away from obeying and being different like God has called us to be. (Romans 12:2)
Wow! that was a good lesson on faith. They all had faith to believe and knew it was eternity they were looking too not those things of this world. What a great lesson for me today. To look in faith to what we will receive in Christ. A better home in eternity.
I would like to thank all of you ,too, especially "Powered By 4, for this study and your comments. You have helped me grow in my knowledge of God/Jesus. I have learned that by faith in God i need not worry about any thing ,I can turn it over to God.he keeps his promises to all of us.Praise God !
