Cheer My Soul

Psalm 94:12-23

I appreciate how Psalm 94:12-23 openly recognizes that the Christian life is not a cake walk. Life is....life, and it can be tough. But as a follower of Christ, our circumstances don't have to dictate our lives because God is in control and He is our helper and our consoler. That means that we can have joy regardless of what's going on in, and around, our lives. "When the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul" (vs. 19).

Think about how the Lord has helped and consoled you in the past and take a moment to thank Him. Then, let's consider this: how do we make sure we're fully relying on God as the controller of all things, and also leaning on Him to be our helper, comforter and consoler? Tami W.

As a father with a daughter who has been lured by the world and deceived by its prince, I have no other refuge, no other hope, no other consoler than the Lord. Knowing Him, and sharing His truth with others who may not know, is my reason to go on living and hoping and serving the Lord who saved me.
I pray with John, Even so come LORD JESUS! Rev. 22:21

God's timing is always perfect. I am actually seeing a family going through this and my question is...if you are a believer and have been walking with God for so long, than why is this taking you so long to get through it? You mentioned how the psalmist started off with the attention on himself and shortly after, his focus and attention was on God. That is the answer. Even when we don't feel like letting go, we have to and proceed with Godly counsel and obedience. Our problem is that we don't want to let go which shows how selfish we really are. My prayer is that when I am in a funk, that I realize it quickly and focus on God's Word, Prayer, and fellowship...even when I don't feel like it because like you mentioned, it's not about feelings. Praise God that He's a God of Mercy and Grace. "Life uncompromised in Christ"

We pray to God for His protection and guidance of our families, I pray and ask for His protection of our going out or or coming in and sometimes if the person does not return by a certain time, I would get jittery and worrying and always I get the message "you asked me to protect and bring them home, why do you doubt me".

Even though I know He will answer my prayer, I still mess up sometimes. God never lies and when we pray and believe He will do what we ask, we should just let go and let God.
