Psalm 96:1-13
Yesterday we were told to sing to the Lord (Psalm 95). We see that again here in Psalm 96 but with an added directive--to sing a new song to the Lord. Now that tells me that God welcomes and even expects us to be fresh and creative in our praise and celebration of Him. And if we're wondering what information, words, tone, etc. that our new song might include, we can get good start from just reading the rest of Psalm 96 for some examples.
So what are some new ways or new things you can do--publicly or privately--to celebrate the Lord? What is your new song going to look like? Tami W.

I was doing a devotion today, and here it is.
Compromise
Are we compromising if we are not putting the truth out there completely?
Are we not, causing these little ones to fall in sin because we are to afraid of telling the truth.......the whole truth?
Sin is a slow fade.
Compromise is a slow fade.
Lord please help us to share the whole truth. Please help us not to get weak in our delivery of the truth, what your Word says.
Help us to stand firm in your Word.
Help is to speak the truth and not get weary of what others might say or how they may respond to us. Help us to remember to look to you and your Word for the truth and not by what others might say or do to us. Help us to trust you Father
Are we compromising??
Today's verse is that reminder that one day we will be judged for what we have done. We will be judged for what we have done for Christ. I don't want to be found at the end of my life that God has given me that I just sat around being like everyone else just blending in. I want to be found being a person of faith that lives out their life taking God serious. I will be the first to tell you I am not perfect, I fail all the time. I just want to try my best to do the things that pleases God. I want to live out the best example that I can be for others. This can not and is not done on my own.............this is done by the help of the Holy Spirit.
Wow. I think I got a day ahead with that whole laughter thing....(see yesterday's comments). Isn't it wonderful how God will confirm what his Spirit speaks to us in our hearts?
It's only been a day, but pausing a moment to acknowledge God each time I laugh is already making a difference in me. Praise, while on the outside looks as if to be for the benefit of the recipient, is really for the benefit of the giver. What a wonderful and mighty God we serve!
As the psalm says we are to sing a new song. If you think about it God gives us new blessing each day and each day our love and our knowledge of Gods blessings are more. As the two songs state first to sing a song and the next to sing a new song, as the songs continue they are grater in heart filled worship and gives our God a grater praise as time goes on.We don't continue to sing the same song over and over. Our praise to God is grater in each passing day as is his blessings.
Praise HIm in a new way. That is something I think I need a bit of help with. I find I usually just say "Praise the LORD" or "I praise YOU LORD. Pretty mundaine. Although I do listen to Christian radio and there is always a different kind of praise with each new song. Annonoymous keep on praising! :O)
http://odb.org/2011/01/23/god-is-at-work-2/ To me this can be thought of as just one example of a new song . . . and events like it are also new songs when we see them happen for other people's benefit . . . not just for my benefit. Gladdens the heart.
I think the best way to celebrate the Lord publicly is to tell others about Him , privately , have a true relationship with Him.Honesty,confession,prayer.As for a song , I'm not good at making songs I would want to put in, his glory , strength , beauty, splender and his majesty.Rejoice in Him and all he has given us and will give us. Praise thee Lord Jesus !
