Psalm 91:1-16

If I had to describe Psalm 91 in one word it would be...encouraging. The entire Psalm basically lays out the benefits of having a relationship with God. Now there was something for me to consider in every verse, but I found the last three verses, 14-16, particularly moving. What a vivid picture of God's love and of His desire to be in relationship with us. Thank you, God.

What encouragement did you find in Psalm 91? How might you use and draw upon this Psalm in the coming weeks? Tami W.

One of the things that separates the God of the Bible from all the other "gods" is His compassion, love, protection and grace that He has for all His children. It is overwhelming to me to know that the Creator and Sustainer of the universe cares about me, a sinner. He cares and protects me.

I couldn't agree more. This psalm gives me the courage to face te year knowing tat my LORD will be with me every step of the way and protecting me from evil. It also reminds me that I must be submissive to Him, He deserves my all!

Reading Psams 91 these are the lessons I have learn from reading the passage:

Nothing can happen to us that God does not allow. We must trust Him.

God often protects from the evils that would come on us without that protection. We must be thankful.

Those closest to the Lord will receive the best care. Moving away from God removes the person from some of His protective care. We must strive to be close to Him.

There will be a day when the saints of God will be protected from all the evils of this world. We will see sin judged, but we will be spared from its judgment.

We must make sure of our eternal salvation.

The part of the verses that stood out to me encouragment wise was I know His name. And He will not cause any trouble to befall me because of that. Thanks be to God for Jesus His son who brought to us His mighty name! By which was all have His protection! God is great and greatly to be praised!

All things are posible if we belive in him and his word.
