Luke 1:1-38
I love the Christmas story. So I was definitely smiling today because we're reading the beginning of the Christmas story from Luke's perspective. As I started, I was wondering just what I would blog on from this very familiar story. Well when I got to verse 37, I knew. The angel Gabriel has told Mary about her pregnancy and is now telling her about Elizabeth being pregnant. Gabriel concludes with these beautiful words, "For nothing is impossible with God."
Now I thought about Gabriel's words and landed here. It's easy for us to read those words and nod our heads in agreement, but do we truly believe them, and do our actions reflect that thinking? Knowing that NOTHING is impossible with God, is there something you can turn over to Him today? Tami W.

How timely. I was going to start reading Luke this morning, as I too love the Christmas story. I decide to read this first, and there it was anyways! I often think about how that must have been for Mary. Truly she must have been frightened. Young, betrothed and now the shame of a pregnancy. What would her parents think? Her neighbors? her friends? and Joseph? I'm sure all of this went through her mind but but still she agreed to be in God's perfect will, trusting Him. I think we spend way too much time wondering what others will think and not enough trusting and being obedient to God. Oh to be like Mary. No wonder God chose her!
Nothing is impossible with God! My friend's life is living prove, a medical miracle because of God's intervention. Her faith is an outstanding witness to many of us.(she is like Mary who the angel appeared to) She is never negative or doubtful. She goes even when it hurts. Even after surgery she is on her feet doing mission work..If only my faith were as big as a mustard seed).I would be more like the saints of old and the living ones who care little about their own life but give it all to and live for Jesus. As soon as I awaken in the morning my inner auto alarm gives praise to The only God of heaven and earth and the only one worthy of glory and honor to ask for peace for HIS people. He alone is worthy to surrender everything to. If I turn off the alarm or don't listen, I will not know or feel His guiding Hand in my day. Dear Lord I give YOU this day be at my side to light and guard to rule and guide, amen. I ask HIM to be on my lips in my heart and mind so I might not sin against HIM. He is my Mediator and I know He stands in the gap and will convict and remind me and change my heart to make restitution and regain the joy of my salvation in Jesus Christ.
"For nothing is impossible with God."
It took me years to really start believing the words of this verse... I can't say I am all there yet, but over the years, just seeing God work in His time and miraculously 'saving the day' time and time again has just been awesome. I feel so small yet so important that the God of the universe, finds time to make the impossible situations in my life look like a walk in the park.
And yes, even today, there some impossible situations lingering that I have been trying to handle, that I need to turn over to Him TODAY!!!
I love the stark contrast between Zechariah's and Mary's response- both saw Gabriel and were given a profound word; yet, Mary stood on faith. God blessed them both and He is so merciful, patient, and kind. God's blessings/promises are always BIG and I'm so thankful that He hears our prayers, walks us through the valleys and brings us into complete trust in Him. I love you Lord- my Savior!
"For nothing is impossable with God" touched me, i wish i could have Marys faith,i have a long way to go but i know he won"t give up on me,praise God!
