John 14:1-9
The message of John 14:1-9 is absolutely clear. Jesus is the ONLY way we can get to heaven. "'I am the way, and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'"
The message of the world today is pretty much any path I choose is good for me... to get me into heaven or wherever. That message is dead wrong (and I do mean dead in the full sense of the word). We know the truth and we're called to proclaim it.
So how can we use John 14:1-9 to let others know their need for a relationship with Jesus? Would you take a few minutes today and just think through this passage and how you might present it to someone in need? Tami W.
In the world today, many hearts are very troubled as a result of natural disasters and world-wide recession. Listening to persons who are not Chritians, there is a sense of hopelessness and despair, even from persons who claim they do not believe in God.
The message of this passage is clear that there is hope only in Christ who is preparing a place for those who believe in Him. Almost everywhere you go, persons are talking about whats happening in the world today... at work, at the garage, in the doctors office.
For me, I great way to to share with others their need for a relationsnhip with Christ, is to start by sharing in a non-confrontational way, why I am not 'troubled' by whats happening in the world... I beleive by sharing my testimony of my hope for a better life to come and how I am able to be at peace is a great way to introduce them to The Way which is only through Jesus.
I am so unworthy to be even considered a candidate for heaven and yet in this scripture our redeemer has promised to rescue me. It is free and His greatest desire, there is no action on my part other than to believe His word that He is in the Father and the Father is in Him and that He laid down His life for my sins. In this passage there is so much peace no matter the circumstance in the world or my life today. Jesus longs to wrap His loving arms around your soul today, open the door and take a long look at the unconditional love of the Master!
The way I see it (and I've heard this from others also), the real question is not "how narrow is God to provide only one way to salvation" but rather the real question is "How amazing is God to provide any way at all?" It is such a human-centered mindset that drives the idea that we can choose different paths to heaven or to forgiveness. But the real amazing thought is that God would provide a way, even one way, to forgiveness for fallen sinners such as us. Praise God for "the way", Jesus Christ!!!
This passage is my second all time favourite promise of Jesus to us (#1 is "nothing will be able to seperate us from the love of God"_Rom 8:35). This passages gives me a fresh sense of hope each time I hear it, read it or meditate on it. It stirs something on the inside that gives me a blessed assurance that this world with all its troubles, trials and tribulations is not my final destination; but that Jesus has prepared somewhere for me that will be free from all the burdens and distresses of this world. As a result, I am more than a conquerer with the ability, like Christ, to overcome the world! Hence, I would encourage my unsaved and even saved friends to take some time and look at the bigger picture_ Christ has a solid plan for us, his promises are sure and he wins in the end!
This is the most profound Truth of the Bible.This is what separates Christians from all others. No one else in all history can lay claim to being the SON of the Living GOD. HE was born of a virgin , lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins and was raised from the dead three days later just as HE told HIS disciples.
HE is coming soon to take all who Truly believe to the mansions that HE has promised. Without JESUS there is no way to escape the horror of hell. Praise GOD , i Thank HIM for making us a way !
I agree , it's amazing that God provided a way for his children to have forgivenessfor sins and a way to be with him forever. Praise God for "the way", Jesus Christ
When we are troubled and live in fear, Jesus is telling us not to worry about these things but instead to live in hope for what He has in store for us, eternal life. To those of us who believe in God and believe that He is the Son of God, He has prepared a place for us. We must not worry about worldly things our home on earth because this is only temporal. Life with Him is erternal. All be have to do is to believe His Word and be obedient in serving Him. as Jesus says He is the only Way, the only Truth and the only Life.
