Genesis 2:4-25
I realized as we've been reading in Genesis this week that although I know a lot about the story of Adam and Eve, there's still quite a bit of information in the creation account for me to take in, and this in turn, will help me get a more complete picture. I had forgotten just how much explanation and detail we're really given. Things like how the earth was watered, different landmarks in Eden and, most importantly, specifics about the creation process.
So if you can, take a couple of minutes and read these verses again paying attention to all the detail. Then consider this: What does Genesis 2:4-25 reveal to us about our creation and purpose? What does it show us about God's desire for a relationship with us? Tami W.

I believe that God has given us all of the detail around the creation process to solidify the fact that it truly did happen the way that God described. If the creation account is simply allegory, then why all of the detail? The detail is given to help us to understand that God DID create us. We are not here by chance. His creation of us creates an accountability with us; from God's side to us and from us to God. Creation is the basis for which our relationship with God exists. If there is no creation, there is no basis for relationship.
Look at all the details God gave us. He has a reason for each one of us to be here. We are created to glorify God. He wants us to know Him personally. He desires us to be in contact with Him continuelly.
The details remind us that nothing is random. That He created everything with love, making everything with incredible detail, all different from each other. Allowing man to name each thing and taking care to find Adam the perfect mate, all shows us how much he loves us. As for the marriage relationship, it says so much about how we have to cling to each other and turn from our origins to create something new as a couple. In this way we are stronger to battle the storms of life. How wonderful God has been to us. We should praise him daily!
Wow have you looked at the night sky on a clear autumn or winter dark night? All creation cries out when I look at it. I am so in awe and just can't help but praise Him. And He didn't want the stars to be so important but they are our reality that God is bigger than anything! And WE were made for HIS glory! How could I or anyone be casual about God!
God is a God of detail and that is why His laws and precepts are all recorded for us to live by them. God always has a purpose in whatever He does. He could just as well molded and made Eve but because He wants us to be a family He took a rib from Adam and made Eve. He meant for them to be one flesh. For us to be one.
God did not just create the heavens and the earth and left man to find his own way. He made sure He provided everything we need to survive. He left out nothing. He is a God of detail. Anything He tells us through His Word He means and He is always faithful to us.
We are the unfaithful ones, because as soon as we have any problems we blame God instead of focusing on Him as we should. We are human, and He does not hold it against us for He is forgiving if, we ask for forgiveness.
2Peter 3:9 says, " God is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to usward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance".(KJV) God loves us so much that His grace and mercy is sufficient for us.
