Take Heart!

Psalm 147:1-20

If there's one thing I've experienced first hand it's that we don't go through life without at least some heartbreak and hard circumstances. So I'm thankful for scripture like Psalm 147 that plainly lays out that the Lord "heals the brokenhearted" and "binds up their wounds." And then we come to these awesome and comforting words, "his understanding is beyond measure." This tells me that no matter what I'm going through, God knows my thoughts, my concerns, my feelings.

So did you draw comfort from Psalm 147? How so? Was there a particular verse or phrase that lifted you up today? Tami W.

P.S. Yesterday our thanks was directed toward God. How awesome! Today, how about sharing all the OTHER things you're thankful for. I know the list will be long because we are richly blessed. So take a minute and share what's on your Thankful List this year.

I'm thankful for family and church. I'm thankful for my wife of 24 years who has been with me through many ups and downs. I'm thankful for Powered by 4 and the commitment to bring the word of God to people throughout the world.

I am always amazed at how the Lord know exactly what we need to hear and when we need to hear it. I woke up to read this passage this morning after being at the emergency vet clinic last night. My 14 1/2 year old Golden Retriever, Amber went down hill fast the past couple of weeks. I had made an appointment for today to have her put to sleep but when I came home from my Alpha course last night, it became apparent that it was time. I am comforted this morning with the reminder that he heals the broken hearted.

After reading Psalms 147 this morning I will find comfort in the Lord in these days of praying for and helping my daughter who has for years beem battling different drug addiction and is now on 4 different kinds of meds for her bipolar, edxtreme deppression, mental disorders. It's been pretty tough to watch her stuggle so hard to be good, make better choices. These meds keep her soo dopped up she cannot take care of herself. She did ask God's forgiveness of sin and recieved Jesus Christ as her Savior about 8 mos.ago. She been homeless, abused in ways is hard to comprehend. Her mind is a full blown battle field now. But through it all I personally know that I serve and awsome God who knows all that is going in her mind, body and soul. So I stand continually on The Word OF God, by faith that He is in charge and He will fight for her to the end. I praise God and Sing a joyful tune and give Him all the glory. As I release [name removed] into His care, putting my trust in all His plans and ways I personally find peace and comfort knowing I am doing the right thing for her. Whatever the outcome. I will trust and obey and give God the Glory because worthy to be praised. Amen and Amen
{ I claim daily scripture over [name removed], seeking and speaking God's Word over her and into her mind, body and spirit, because the Word and Truth will set her free in name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. }

Verses 4 and 5 stood out for me.. He not only determines the number of stars, but He knows them by name. Wow! If God knows the stars by name, then obviously He knows my name as well, and I'm comforted that He is aware of every circumstance/situation that I find myself in, and that He's more than able to accomplish whatever concerns me.

This also displays God's power in a mighty way and I like that His understanding is beyond measure.... it tells me that He is acquainted with my ways in a way that I just can't comprehend! How awesome is that!!!!!

Yes . . . each one of us has some bad days . . . life is like that.

If you had a bad thanksgiving, be thankful it wasn't worse. A lot of places in the world the people don't have it near as good as us.

I'm thankful for my shoes, my phone, my cell phone, my new bed, my Church and everyone there. I'm thankful to God for my computere that keeps me connected with some dear frienda and P4 and Keys. I'm thankful to God for our refrigerator. Our water, our clothes, our TV's and the shows that are on that are clean wholesome shows. I'm thankful that over the years we have more of them as well. I'm thankful for my shower. The food I eat. The friends I have. I'm thankful for each new day and the new mercies it beholds. The verse that spoke to me is the one that mentions "how pleasant and fitting it is to Praise our God". Giving thanks to our God for all he has done for us even the things we take for granted is a form of praise and worship. I am thankful for the breathe of air God allows me to enjoy each and everyday.

I am thankful to be a citizen of the united states of america, where I can freely worship the God whom I love. I am thanking God, in advance, for the spinal surgery that I will have in 48 hours. I know that He will bless me and the surgeon, anesthesiologist, nurses and techs.

I'm thankful for my husband who loves the Lord and his heart and desire to help others.

Laura, I want to say how sorry I am about your dog. I love my dogs & we had to put one of them down last Jan. God is healing my broken heart from that still. I am thankfull for different things at different times, but the thing that's constant that never changes is His faithfullness. Looking back over my whole life, He was (& is) always with me. I say looking back because I don't always FEEL his presence & don't know what's going to happen in the future. But He is with me, some bad circumstatnces don't change or get worse, but I am not alone, course there's always thoes great times when He answers some requests that are His will. I have to learn His voice better. So to sum it up I would say He never leaves us or forsakes us.

Laura, so sorry for your pain. But, yes, I know for sure, the Lord is with us through everything! He will comfort and sustain you. I have been where you are, and I know how very hard it is. Just lean on Jesus every day, and He will not disappoint.

Nadyne, my prayers go with you regarding your surgery. It is such a blessing for those of us who know the Lord to put ourselves totally in His hands, and to know we can trust HIM with US!

Blessings to all on P4!
