Armor Up

Ephesians 6:10-20

The armor of God, Ephesians 6:10-20, is one of my favorite passages. I've read it a zillion times, but I never get tired of it. I love it because the instruction we receive here is vital for us to live and function as strong Christians in this world that is so filled with evil.

So even if you've read Ephesians 6:10-20 a zillion times like me, would you take a couple of minutes and read through these verses again today? Then, tell us how you use them. Do you have a routine of putting on the armor each morning? What does that look like? Any stories about how this armor has helped you in the past? Tami W.

It was one of the first longer passages I was encouraged to memorize in our women’s class. Even though I fail to put it on everyday,I am strengthened when I do and am in awe that I could forget such an important guard for my life! The shield of faith (Eph 6:16)is where I find The joy of The Lord is my strength(Neh 8:10) because it always seems to dash away all the attacks that the devil throws at me. But I know it is very important to have on HIS Righteousness and truth(Eph 6:14) to discern my error and the worlds ways. I have the assurance of salvation(Eph 6:17)through Christ's finished work of shed blood and power in HIS Resurrection. I'm grateful for the WORD which I've hidden in my heart and mind(Ps.119:11). I'm still learning to be prepared to use it wisely. I need your prayers as Paul said(Eph 6:18) to speak fearlessly and boldly as I WILL continue to pray for all of you.

I feel like I stay clothed in faith, truth, and salvation. I pray over righteousness and try to equip daily with the readiness of God's word. I have many Bibles that I keep in different locations with me and one in my car to always have my sword with me. When I pray at all times, I feel more empowered by God. My favorite is the last part of this section to pray for my self and my brothers and sisters that we may have words given to us every time we "open our mouth BOLDLY to proclaim the mystery of the Gospel". That is the prayer I need to pray more often.

The amour of God has us completely covered for any given situation. Right now there are several people in my life that are struggling with some pretty severe issues. I can use this passage to encourage them. There are 4 specific situations that are weighing heavily on my heart. Could you please join me in prayng for them? As God knows the details, I won't go into them here. Thanks ever so much!

Tami, this is a powerful Bible Reading. Jesus has paved the way for us and now Paul is letting us know that it is a hard and rocky road where we will meet every obstacle we can think of. He has met them and he is sharing how we must deal with them. Put on the whole armour of God not one piece but all. There is so much evil out there and Satan wants Christ to lose the battle but Jesus has already won the battle. He will come to claim His kingdom - He, our King of kings and our Lord of lords.

I believe everyday we should read or recite this passage to remind us that to follow Christ is not easy and as we put on each piece we must put it on with prayer.

My God has been so good to me that when I get up I thank Him for life, health, family and friends and the blessings of the past days and years. I ask Him to guide and lead me, my family and friends in whatever we are planning and what we do and say. I sing songs of praise and give thanks and read His Word. Then I have my coffee and turn to my BTTB studies, devotions and of course P by 4. I share thoughts and devotions with others. In the afternoon I praise and thank Him again and make my supplications known unto Him. These are normally praying for others. Before I go to bed, I thank Him again.

I owe my Lord everything and He has always been good to me a poor sinner. May God hear our prayers today as we lift up fellow bloggers and BTTB staff and people we do not even know. May God be with us this day.

Janice, praying for you and yours. You are right, God knows. He really knows. I always pray that He works things for His glory (for that is why we are here, to bring Him glory), according to His will, and in the name of Jesus Christ. He is more than enough!

I try to start my day with bible study. Sometimes this is not possible, but even without this study my focus on Christ and his teaching is almost always with me. Daily God reveals himself to me in so many ways that I am compelled to talk about him and to encourage others to trust in the Lord. I always try to cover myself with the whole armour of God. Many times I am not completely covered or I err, but God is merciful and so I ask for his forgiveness in prayer.

HI TAMI
I HAVE READ AND LISTENED TO THIS PASSAGE A NUMBER OF TIMES ALSO. IT IS ONLY A PITY THAT I DID NOT SIGN ON TO POWERED BY 4 FIRST THING THIS MORNING BEFORE COMMENCING MY DAY. IF I HAD DONE SO I AM SURE I WOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO OVERCOME THE CHALLENGES THAT CAME MY WAY TODAY.

WITH MUCH REGRETS.

CECIL
