John 13:36-14:7
Jesus tells us "Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me" (John 14:1). A simple command yet one that we, many times, struggle to put into practice. Well, I can be pretty good at hanging on to my concerns and troubles and I'm guessing you probably do that sometimes too? So let's take Jesus at His word.
What can we do today to put this verse into practice--to give up our burdens, our concerns, and those things that frighten us? What does not letting your heart be troubled look like? Tami W.

it's so good to be back. Just believe He said, so why all the trouble and worries of this world. If He say believe, i don't think there is any other thing that is simple than that,so i believe in Him and God.It's better to put all our burdens on Him because He is the only one that can bring solution to all problem. Thus not letting my heart be troubled is looking on to JESUS,the author and finisher of our faith.Casting all on Him.
Casting all our cares and concerns upon Him, for He cares for us! It takes faith and commitment on our part, trusting Him as we go.
Tami, you are right when you say that we struggle to put this verse into practice. I do believe in Him but I guess it is human nature that when I am troubled about something my first instinct is to worry and then I realise that I do not have to go through it alone. If I believe in God then I have to believe in every thing He says or does. Psalm 55:22 says, "Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain thee; He shall not suffer the righteous to be moved." (KJV) I have some work to do first though, I have to ensure that my heart is clean and that I do not have any sins lurking there. I must first seek forgiveness and then cast my burdens on Him. God is always faithful and just. I am the one who is unfaithful at times. I pray everyday for His guidance and that He will lead me through the day in all I plan, do or say.
When God takes over then I feel free and energised to give Him thanks and praise and make sure that my eyes are on the narrow path never losing sight of Him. May He continue to bless and strengthen us all this day.
Great comments everyone. I enjoyed reading them. I think the key word here is trust. Sometimes that's easier said than done. At least it is for me. Sometimes it helps to visualize laying our cares and worries at the foot of the cross, or in Jesus hands. Sometimes we have to do that many times during the day. As Joan said very well we have to have a clean heart. The bottom line is it is a sin to worry.
Remembering HIS characteristics and beautiful quilities will help us focus on HIM. Especially when we are confronted and bombarded by satans attacks...Pray for those who struggle to focus.
