Revelation 21:15-27

As we finish out Revelation 21 we get an up close look at the new Jerusalem. An angel takes John in the spirit to a mountain and shows him the holy city. The description and details we're given about the city are a little mind boggling and oh so incredible. I love how John lists all the things that are part of this amazing city and that list is impressive to be sure. But then John focuses in on those thing that are not part of this city--no temple, no sun, no moon, no night.

So what does this description of new Jerusalem reveal to us about God? His holiness? Standards? Awesomeness? His Glory? Tami W.

Our Father is a God of greatness! He provides for His children the dwelling place that was prepared for them! We need to prepare our hearts now in this life - it will be too late, when the things we've studied in Revelation begin to unfold.

We'll have no need of any created light; the Lamb will light our way at all times. I would that, even now, we'd always allow Him 2 light our way, for we'd see ever more clearly! The church is not identified with a temple; the church IS a temple! An old chorus we sang says: "Lord, prepare me, a sanctuary, pure and holy, tried and true. With thanksgiving, I'll be a living sanctùary for You!." This is my daily prayer, my heart's desire, while on earth! Praise the Lord Saviour FOREVER!

can i just say first that THOSE WERE SOME BIG CLAMS that produced pearls big enough to make the gates !!! now on the spiritual side of your question tami . i think to me this city represents a perfect city . all the jewewls, gold, etc. is what i view (humanly) as perfect. and i think it shows God has THE VERY BEST for us. you better be sure your name is written in the Lambs book of life or you will not enter it. The Lord Jesus and the Glory of our Father will be all the light we need . no darkness at all represents (to me) not only is there no nighttime but no darkness of sin either. kids are gonna love it . no bedtime !! lol

With God ALL things are possible so we know He is all-powerful and we are seeing this in Book of Revelation. God is is just showing us that all that He said would come through. I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. I am the Light of the World. We are seeing all of this as described by John the disciple whom Jesus loved. I pray that more people will have access to the Book of Revelation and also to Dr. Kroll's teachings for the past two months. if what they see here do not open their hearts to receive Christ, then I do not know what else will. Let us continue to pray for all and for ourselves to keep in His Word.

Tami, you asked about God's holiness, His glory,His awesomeness and His standards but I cannot think of any word now on earth that can really describe this awesomeness. All I can say is Hallelujah, Glory and power belong to You O God our Maker and Creator. Thank You, Lord for the greatest love that only You can give. Amen.

Two things struck me as I just read the passage. One was that all the kings brought their glory to Jesus. Second was that nothing unclean was allowed to enter. Also, I can't imagine what it's going to look like with all the jewels. I appreciated Dr. Kroll's possible explantation of what the pearl gates might represent. This is all going to be soooo cool.

I agree with what everyone else has said, basically it's just going to be radically cool. And I honestly don't think that we have a clue really how cool it's going to be, yet the word AWESOME definitely describes our Lord and Savior. :)

This new city and all it's splendor is hard for our minds to envision; however, God's love for us is clearly apparent. From the precious stones to the perfect lay of the land, God always had this in mind for His people (from the beginning) and now I see why He wants us separate and distinct from the things of this world. We are His chosen ones- He loves us and wants only the best for us. Nothing and no one can fulfill us as only the Lamb can. He's our everything- our light, our path, our sustenance.

Joan, thanks for the reminder that this teaching series is wonderful and Rev. should be read by the masses. I too pray that others will read/hear the message and accept the love of Christ- only He can deliver the lost from poverty and shower them with His riches.

I do hope to be prepared for the glory that awaits those who believe. I also pray hearts will be opened so non would miss it. I pray that God will help us open The Word, read it and understand what He wants us to get out of Revelations.(Rev 1:3)Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and heed the things which are written in it;for the time is near.

i got the impression the city was about 1/2 the size of the united states and just as tall with walls 200' thick (who are we keeping out). I'm a builder and thats an impressive city. I am concerned about the idolaters, whoremongers, etc outside . . . Is "Hell"right outside the city gates? Are there people being born during that time that don't desire Christ's righteousness? The word does say Christ will reign with an iron rod during the millenium - so there would have to be some rifraf - but what of this time - after the mil.?
