Revelation 21:1-8

Well this is week number 8 and thus our last week in Revelation. I have to say that I'm glad we took the time to work through this tough book right along with Dr. Kroll and the Back to the Bible radio program. I've learned a lot and enjoyed it. I hope that's the case for you too.

So John is describing the new heaven and new earth in these first verses of chapter 21. It sounds absolutely wonderful. The most exciting part for me was verse 3 where we are told "Behold the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people." I can't wait.

So how can we use this passage to motivate us in our relationship with the Lord now? Tami W.

For me this passage of the new Jerusalem is the reward for faithful living to the word of God. It is the reason for being a christian. It is living in the perfect world where there is no sorrow or pain no mourning and where God is always with man.
It is the prize, I will continue on in hope of the prize.

you know i'm so glad that God's mercy, grace, faithfulness etc. is renewed daily for me. but this renewal is THE HOPE OF GLORY that i cling to. i walk in this life now with the Lords Holy Spirit in me. but when this scripture is fulfilled He will be with us Himself. perfection will come . no more phone calls of cancer, death, wrecks, etc... and this new Jerusalem city . well lets just say IT SOUNDS PRETTY AWESOME !!!! (oops. i read a little ahead there). ALL THINGS NEW !!!!! we were made new when we were saved but i think this sounds WAY MORE NEW !!!! HALLELUJAH !!!!

Tis passage is only confirming Jesus' promises He made in the Gospel of John 14:1-3, "Let not you heart be troubled; ye believe in God believe also in Me. In My Father's house are mansions; if it were not so I would have told you. I GO TO PREPARE A PLACE FOR YOU (Capitalised for emphasis). And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto Myself, that where I am, there ye may be also".

He leaves it us to believe and follow Him and keep the faith and live in hope for this blessed day to come. He has warned us against false prophets and evil doers so we can't just believe but we also have to keep the fire burning in our heart and soul for His Word. Read and study it daily and pray without ceasing not just for ourselves but our families, friends and all people. He is the only person we can trust. He is the only person who has our back.
Lord thank You for not giving up on me. Thank You that I can still come to You anytime because Your door is always open.
Thank You Lord for Your love, grace, mercy. compassion and forgiveness. I love You Lord and give You thanks and praise.

What wonderful comments everybody. I love what you said Joan about "he has our back." What a great thought. I've had a supervisor tell me that when we were having higher level leadership problems. It means even more to think that Jesus "has my back." Let's stay faithful to Him.

The comments were all great. We need to continue to draw nearer to our Lord and His will. Reading His word, fellowshiping with His people. And desiring that which is faithful to Christ. It sure will be neat to be able to fellowship person to person with our Lord. :o)

It makes me want to praise HIM all day...I will try to do that at least 7x a day so I can remember that God is in control and He directs my steps..Praise Jesus the Holy Holy Holy!!!!
