Lift Me Up

Psalm 75:1-10

The primary message or theme of Psalm 75 is one of God judging with fairness ("with equity" vs. 2). But mixed in throughout this theme and verses I also picked up pretty clearly the message that God is most certainly in control (see vs. 2, 3 & 7). So even though we can fall into thinking that we're pretty powerful (vs. 4-6), really, it's not about us or our power at all.

So how can we draw on Psalm 75 to help us keep the right perspective so we can be empowered by God (not ourselves) and be "lifted up" by Him (vs. 10)? Tami W.

2 Corinthians 10:17, Boast in The Lord, Take my mind off myself and keep it focused on HIM. He alone is worthy.

Dear Father, thank you and praise you for Your authority and power over heaven and earth. Please help those who are struggling with grief and sickness. So many of your children are becoming like you in suffering. Strengthen and lift them to endure and bring glory to Your Name. Help those who lost loved ones to feel Your very presence. Give comfort to the lonely. Bring joy to hearts that are in pain and trying to seek you . Thank you for the happy ending to come,in Your precious Name. Amen

A reminder that He is the Potter, we are the clay. We are a tool...yet, a unique and valued tool... of God's while on the earth.
May He use each of us in His own way, at His own time and for the good works for which He alone purposes us and for which He alone will exhalt us. All other exhaltation is fading...

In everything, God is in control. Without Him we are nothing. That is what we can draw from Psalm 75. God created the heavens and the earth and all that is there in including us and all creatures. we must never lose thought of that God is in charge and we had nothing to do with our creation. We are living by His grace, His mercy, His compassion and His forgiveness. Without love we are nothing.

Every morning and every night and in between the day we should always give God thanks and praise and worship Him with songs and Psalms, focusing on Him always. For us to do this we must read His Word and we must pray for others that they may worship and praise Him and feel the joy and peace. We will have our ups and downs and God is aware of this but we must never lose faith or trust in Him. We have to be faithful as He is to us. May God bless us all this day and may He send someone in our life that we can minister to and let him/she know what living with God means. All the very best in the name of Jesus.

I get the opportunity to write 7 prayers a week, for a ministry, in which I have to include a scripture. One of the things I find I'm writing a lot about these days is God's equity in judgement. I find it sobering because we are all going to be judged, and it reminds me how I totally judge constantly without all of the facts. But the Lord is the righteous judge, He knows it all and because of that He can judge fairly.

The verse that really strikes me in this Psalm is verse 3 -When the earth totters, and all its inhabitants,
it is I who keep steady its pillars. Selah. - It's almost like a reminder, as we see when God asked Job questions, that He is the Creator. He is the ONE in control and He has all the power, so don't even think about questioning why He even says He judges anyone, let alone with equity.

I really think that us humans, often times have no clue who we are dealing with when we think that we can tell God what to do. Definitely a sobering Psalm and a great way to start my Saturday reading it.

Our own righteousness is as filthy rags. When we are wrapped up in and covered by the righteousness of the sinless Lord Saviour, Jesus Christ, we need not worry nor fear. He will lift us up. He lifts up His own at the right time and in the right way. He knows how to complete the work He has already begun in us.

We should never try to exalt ourselves, as we will only falter. Jesus NEVER fails; in Christ, we are victorious. We will realize more fully His victory over death and hell, when we are raptured to be with Him forever!

All through this study, I've been unable to forget the description given of the 144,000 Jewish evangelists. The part that stays before my mind, is "they follow the Lamb wherever He goes." Praise God, I want to do that, too. I want ALWAYS to follow the Lamb wherever He goes!

From a very practical standpoint, I see God in control in my employment. Even though I've tried to find other jobs over the last several years, nothing has opened up. I am very grateful that God is in control of every aspect of our lives. We need to stay close to Him in our Bible study and prayer. Also, look for the every blessings that He gives us.

HI TAMI
1 Peter 5:6 "HUMBLE YOURSELVES THEREFORE, UNDER GOD'S MIGHTY HAND, THAT HE MAY LIFT YOU UP IN DUE TIME" TELLS US THAT GOD LOVES A HUMBLE SPIRIT AND ALSO REWARDS SAME.

WE HAVE TO BE CAREFUL THAT IF WE ARE LIFTED UP WE DO NOT BECOME LIKE NEBUCHADNEZZAR AND TAKE CREDIT FOR ANYTHING. GOD HAS SHOWN US ENOUGH EVIDENCE OF HOW AWESOME AND MIGHTY HE IS, YET HE LOVES US SO MUCH THAT HE SENT JESUS THE CHRIST TO DIE FOR OUR SINS.

WE MUST BE CAREFUL NOT TO TAKE HIS LOVE FOR GRANTED AND CONTINUALLY SEEK FOR THE PRESENCE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN OUR LIVES TO FIGHT AGAINST THE WEAPONS OF THE ENEMY SUCH AS ARROGANCE, SELFISHNESS AND UNGRATEFULNESS.

REGARDS IN CHRIST
