Way to Go Philadelphia!

Revelation 3:7-13

The message to the church at Philadelphia (Revelation 3:7-13) gave me an instant lift. I loved the reminder of keeping God's Word and proclaiming Christ. But where that lift really hit was when I was reminded that we can do significant things for the Lord without being significant ourselves or belonging to a big, powerful church. "Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut. I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name" (verse 8).

So regardless of your position, title, authority or power, what are some things you can do for the Lord this week? Plan one action/set one goal and then tell us about it. Tami W.

Yesterday I was witnessing to somebody at work and he suggested that I start a bible study grup. I will see if I can arrange it this week.

I love to do things outside the church. This week I had a little vbs for a Korean church's children for 2 days of joyful noise! Now that is a lift! I plan to practice the presence of God by studying in His Word. We are learning about God's dwelling place, my heart. I desire to practice 2 Peter 1 to add to my faith. Please pray I will pay attention and have a good memory. I pray you all accomplish your goals. Thanks!

i attend a large church and i serve in our living free program . it's addiciction recovery and learning to be free from life controlling issues . ie ; anger, fear, eating disorders, pornography, alcohol, drugs etc. outside the church we do a ministry called younglife for high school students . this week though i am excited to start a living free study called "stepping into freedom" at my house with 2 24 year olds. their best friend just died from an overdose. these 2 seem to be ready though and were a little intimidated about going to the church because there is 140 plus people in living free there. so we are going to do the study at my house . i think it's very important to be involved in serving at your church AND outside the church . but don't do more than you are supposed to . pray and God will direct ...

I have realized, thanks to Dr. Kroll's B2TB reading about the church at Sardis, that my own little church might be in danger and that I need to do something about it if I want to see changes. I plan on going to church early this Sunday and discussing with some of the people how I be of service in some of the programs currently underway, and also talk about starting Bible study, as I don't believe one currently exists at this time.

through these bible studies I have realized that I need to make some more changes in my life and this week I am looking for a local way to conncet with other Christain women to help build my faith.

I will write my 2 cousins (2 brothers) again who are struggling with alcohol and drug addition. The older one has been told he has only several months to live because of severe liver disease. The younger one will be lost when the older is gone. I'm hoping to find a place to get him into rehab if he will go. Please pray with me about his.

Like Mary, I like to do what I can outside the church setting (as there are so many well-functioning ministries already in place in most churches).

I try to remember to make the day-to-day things count for Jesus Christ..If I send an email to a friend, I want to say something that will uplift or encourage that friend in the faith. If I receive a text message, I want my reply (yes, even to a simple text message), to include something encouraging from the Word or to remind someone of the awesomeness of God. A phone call may be quite routine, but I don't hang up before I've tried to encourage, or, pray for the soul who is on the other end of that phone. A text message in the night saying, "Pray for me, I can't sleep," means, "get up, Susie, you're not gonna sleep till your friend can!"

I think it matters, in this day of technology, that we use our computers, our cellphones, and, yes, everything we have, in a way as to present Jesus Christ (which, by the way, Back to the Bible does, thru Powered by 4, 411 GOD, SEE ME CHANGE, and NUDGE...check them out)!

Thanks, Back to the Bible and Tami, for working so hard to minister thru the technology available. We must not allow these things to be taken over by Satan. May God give us wisdom, guidance and courage to use all HE has given to US in order to give BACK to HIM!

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone that has blogged so far with what they are going to do this week. I'm attending a conference on worship leading in kansas city this week and am getting a bunch of ideas of different things our church can do even though we are a small start up church that doesn't have a lot of financial "power." God is good and He will recognize and bless our efforts. Thanks again for your comments. Tami W.

tomorrow with my two young girls in tow, I plan on cleaning my church. I may not be able to get a whole lot done but just the chance to give back in some small way and clean His house with a note of praise/worship on my heart is the least I can do...

I have owned my own business for 21 years. I have seen a lot of change over those years. I know God has put me here and has a plan for me. I have not seriously sought Him in this area and have now surrendered to His leading and His will for His glory. We have recently lost our local coffee shop and there will be a void in our small town. I know God's timing is perfect. He is opening for me a door of opportunity to come along side the people of our community. I know I don't need to go to Africa or Haiti to find a mission field. Mine is right here where God has planted me. Pray that God would to exceedingly, abundantly above all that I ask or think in our small town through my ministry in my shop.

Susan, I'll pray that God uses you to be a light in your town as you run your business. Tami W.

Anonymous,

I'll also be praying for your two cousins who are struggling with addictions and that God will use you to reach out to them. Tami W.
