At the Throne

Revelation 4:1-8

Today, we undergo a shifting of gears if you will. We're moving into chapter 4 of Revelation and as we do that we are moving from things that took place in the past to things that are to come in the future. Our setting is no longer on the earth but in heaven, and we're moving into the judgment portion of Revelation.

Revelation 4:2 introduces us to God seated on the throne. John provides us with quite a description of God, His throne and all that is around the throne. What he describes is definitely not of this world. It's absolutely majestic and it so highlighted for me God's glory and power and holiness.

So what did this picture of God on the throne convey to you? How can we utilize what we learned about God from this passage in our lives today?

Great study about what's to take place! In today's reading; I saw myself as the "unprofitable servant"/"unworthy servant" Jesus spoke of in Luke 17:10. The Lord is worthy of all our praise, love, and devotion!

I'm also reading Ezekiel in addition to Revelation and I see so many cross parallels that just further support the prophetic power and purpose of Jesus! From the description of the creatures I see how God is the Master of all creation. He created these and all things and as a result that are subject to Him- only He can tame the wild beasts...Also, the image of Jesus on the 'transparent glassy sea' (v. 6) confirms that Jesus is the life of running water and I'm also reminded of when He walked on water before His disciples- He gave us a glimpse of what He had/has in heaven. Lastly, my impressions of the 7-fold Holy Spirit were amazing- when Jesus left us the Holy Spirit as our Comforter, we were granted all seven-fold aspects of Him- not just a part or 3 out of 7 traits, we have all of Him- I cannot stress enough in my life and share with others to be in the indwelling of the Spirit and not limit what God has empowered us with.

God loves beauty. It is all around us, and this passage describes the throne room filled with beauty.

Wow..just Wow..I thought, if those living creatures, who happen to be in Heaven by the way, Spent all day saying

“Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty,
who was and is and is to come!”

How much more so us, in both our deeds & words, seeing as we too are living creatures, transferred from death by, Jesus's sacrifice on the cross for us

Then i recalled his word.. "Thy will be done as Earth as in Heaven" and "Be ye Holy as I am holy" 1st peter 1:16

Indeed, we so often fall short but as we see, "flashes of lightning, and rumblings and peals of thunder" and things in the world unravel we have an onus to recognize it as God at work & be motivated to Press on & press toward his calling.

Consider me Motivated.....

Thanks

jUST LAST NIGHT MY 5 YEAR OLD ASKED ME WHAT god LOOKED LIEK i WAS HAVING DIFFCULTY EXPALINING BUT i AM GOING TO READ THIS VERUS TO HIM AND ASK HIM WHAT HE THINKS.

I was thinking about the majesty of the Lord and all he created! I have a vision of the whale that just hit the sailboat in Capetown South Africa. The couple was unharmed but God created that huge creature! Wow...I was also thinking about the deep sea photos they have gotten recently of the coast of Australia with special cameras of fish 1 mile plus below the surface. These fish are created in an amazing way that they can withstand deep sea pressures so great. I guess this week has been a "sea" of thinking about the magesty of god's creation and how now at our death, as a confessed believer in the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior, we will actually get to see the throne of the almighty creator our God....isn't that cool!

Such beauty in heaven! But, then, such holiness in heaven! Perhaps, there can only be such complete and perfect beauty, when there is complete and perfect holiness.

The sea, as crystal, seems to indicate "transparent." The many eyes of the creatures? Perhaps, we are also being reminded nothing is anymore hidden. All will be seen and transparent. There is no sin in heaven, so there is nothing to hide. What else do we need to try and hide on earth, other than our sins? But, God, knows. Thankfully, through the Holy Spirit, He shows us our sin, convicts us, so we might repent and be forgiven. Then....we have the hope and the promise of all this great, great beauty, in His power and holiness, forever and ever.

Yes, Piece of Clay, I, too, am motivated!

Awesome! Beautiful, and powerful at the same time. And with all that I can still trust Him with every detail of my life because of His love for me. Wow!
Lots of good thoughts everyone. I enjoyed reading them.

There is more waiting for us in heaven.
"He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away." Rev 21:4
A young mother at the womens prison accepted Jesus last night.
Please pray for her as she gets out in less than a month.
