Psalm 119:81-96
I found our two segments of Psalm 119, KAPH and LAMEDH, touching because I could really identify with the psalmist. Here he is in the middle of some difficult times, pouring out his heart out to God. But he doesn't lose sight of, or his hope in, God. Did you notice verse 87 "but I have not forsaken your precepts." And then almost immediately after this we see him recognizing how God's faithfulness endures to all generations (verse 90). That is so true. God has been faithful to me and my husband. He was faithful to my dad and my mom. I see His faithfulness right now with my nieces and nephews. Yes, God is faithful and good.
So how has knowing God is faithful to all generations helped you in the past? And how can we take full advantage of this awesome promise as we move forward? Tami W.

As I was growing up I was told that my great grandfather had prayed for the future generations, which included my brother and me. We are both serving the Lord, and my father was a minister of the Gospel. God's faithfulness endures! I have been continuing the tradition (probably not as reglarly as great grandpa). Thus far, my daughter has found a wonderful Chirstian young man who is concerned with following God. Praise the Lord! My daughter will be heading to Haiti on a mission trip in a month...God's faithfulness endures!!
A really encouraging Psalm! In the first 8 verses we can see the Psalmist pretty much despairing as the wickedness around him abounds. And in the rest of today's reading, we see he finds hope in a faithful God.
Life is hard.... but God is Good! He's always faithful, we are the ones that need the work it seems. God is always there for us but we are the ones that drift away from Him. We need to anchor ourselves in His faithfulness and find hope as the Psalmist did.
Tami, when I look back at my life, I see how wonderful and faithful God has been with us, my family. My dad and mom were always kind and they always taught us not just by their words but by their action to be kind and reverent to people. We lived very far from church so we never went to church often but we knew wrong from right and that has helped us along the way. We knew must treat everyone with love and respect.
I see how He has blessed our family and even though we have made mistakes He has always forgiven us and walked with us. When I think of God's awesome promise and what He has done for each and everyone of us on earth I can only try to share His blessings with others and live a life that others will see that I am a person of integrity and that I care for people and all God has created.
Our young people are going astray and it brought tears to my eyes this morning at church, when it was reported how young people in our small Caribbean country feel about the church and persons serving in the church - negative feeling. This is just not good, and we have to do something. Yes we will pray, but we need to really get to these young people and I am praying for God's lead and guidance so that we can do the right thing and not drive them away further.
We have to showw them how faithful, just and good our Good is by sharing our testimonies. Please, please let us pray for the youth. They have the wrong role models when there is only One whom we should follow, our Lord Jesus Christ.
We are commanded in the Old Testament to hand down the Word of God to all generations. The word is to be given from parent to child and to others that we come in contact with.
In Kaph v82 - the writer is older (eyes fail) and has held on to God unchanging word. Knowing that although what I have learned as an adult is much different from the teachings of my mother. I can say that she did introduce God in my life and without that I would not have a foundation. However, my growth in the Kingdom, as I have studied and eagerly read His word, I have been able to share with my children my relationship with the King.
We can only train our children and pray for them, but the foundation is the most important part. I believe that being a living testimony, living what you know the Word of God to be, is the best testimony to others who may see you. Each step we make is a step that reflects who we are in Jesus Christ, may we step to His commandments and not to those of the world.
Watching my Dad and Mom live a life devoted to God all my life has been a comfort to me but now I see I used that as a crutch so many times. I have come to realize that my choice is just as important as theirs was and I cant use their devotion as mine. Now I have made many changes in my life so that my families examples dont die with them but continue on with my life so my children can come to the same decision as I had to hopefully and carry on beyond me. I know God is faithful because of the prayers of my parents for me so now Im on my knees for my children.
