Sealed

2 Corinthians 1:18-22; 5:1-10

Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians 1:22 that God has "put his seal on us and given us his Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee." In other words, we're sealed by the Holy Spirit.

For the next two days on Back to the Bible, Dr. Kroll is teaching on the Holy Spirit sealing us and what that means. And on today's program we see that our sealing signifies identity, ownership, security and value. I encourage you to listen to get a complete explanation and all the details from Dr. Kroll.

As a Christ-follower, does knowing that you're sealed by the Holy Spirit encourage you? Make you thankful? Confident? Tami W.

When the Bible tells us we're "sealed ", or "accepted in the beloved".......words like these really humble me. When I think of times I haven't lived up to these expressions of love, it really humbles me and also, makes the vast grace and goodness of God that much BIGGER!

Being sealed should inspire us all onward!

Its a great thing to know that i am sealed, identify, owned, secured and valued by the spirit of God.Am so happy and there is a great joy in me.It worth thanking God for and living all my life for Him.THANK YOU GOD.

I am very much encouraged by knowing I am sealed by the Holy Spirit. It signifies I belong to God. I am his daughter. I am a princess because he is the King of kings and the Lord of lords. Having said that, I must think about how I act if I am considered his daughter and have his name. What image do I portray to others? Is it positive, negative or nothing at all. Being sealed by the Holy Spirit, people should see a positive difference in me and be drawn to want the same thing.

When I read "being sealed" it gives me more confindence in knowing I belong to Christ. What ever satan is ALLOWED to throw my way I can stand knowing I'm covered by the blood of the lamb. I can stand knowing there is no need for fear and when the storm is over I will come out of it a more patient, loving, kind, or gentle person. Having perservered.
I belong to God and have been sealed by the spirit, thetefore Satan can't just do what he wants with me.

I have been wanting to do a study on the Holy Spirit recently, so thank you. This is definitely God's timing.
I agree with Ed, and I want to add that being God's adopted child, that seal gives me the assurance that I will not be turned away - disinherited. It is like a contract that cannot be broken. Praise God! Like the song says, "Oh no! He'll NEVER let go..."

I was looking at the first few verses of chp 5 and thinking that if we are not sealed by the Holy Spirit that it is like we are walking around naked, exposed to all of Satans devices.

1 Cor 5:2 For in this tent we groan, longing to put on our heavenly dwelling, 3 if indeed by putting it on we may not be found naked.

It is not easy do in this fast paced world, but we need to put on the Holy Spirit everyday, beginning the day by putting on the armor of God and fixing our eyes on Him in order to be prepared for whatever is presented before us moment by moment.

Do you realise how much God loves and cares for us? He has made us new creatures under the New Covenant. He gives us identification with every body who has been baptised into His family. We belong to Him, yes He owns us. We are secure that means no weapons drawn against us can prosper and no one can clutch us from His hand. We are valuable to Him as the message from Dr. Kroll today states, being sealed with the Holy Spirit of God is a guarantee by God of the promises made to us by Him. Hallelujah, praise the Lord for His lovingkindness, His grace, His mercy, His compassion and His forgiveness.

I pray that He will be with us as we continue our journey always focussing on Him and His Word. I pray also for those who do not know Him that they too may have this joy, peace and His promise. Thank you all for your comments from the heart. Thank you Tami and may God continue to strengthen you and your team.

I try to walk in a humble way as my joy in the Lord runs through my veins. I find it hard not to walk with confidence. I am on fire each day to share this joy with the world. My lord Jesus has left me this comforter, the seal of the holy ghost, and I find strength in knowing that when, I am absent from the body, I will be home with the Lord. WHAT A HAPPY DAY THAT WILL BE.

Being a Christ-follower, I am encouraged to get into His word more when I see that He has sealed me in. I am a part of the family of Believers and I can not be removed.

I am thankful that I asnwered to call of salvation. I am indwelled by The Holy Spirit and have been since I said "I believe". He is such an important part of my daily life especially when I am studying each morning.

Sometimes, I get off track. I remember that I am human. I even forgot for a second Who's I am! However, the Holy Spirit reminded me Who I belonged to and my confidence just shot up from there. I know that sometimes we will struggle and get knocked off our "horse", but we must remember that we belong to the Master! The Holy Spirit is our holy guide in everything when we trust Him enough to follow Him wherever He may lead.

Yes it does give me more confidence and a knowing as to what I should think on. Not fleshly things but Spiritual. And that gives me a peace.
