Ephesians 3:14-21
The love of Christ. We hear that phrase all the time, but how much do we really understand and comprehend it? And even if we do have a good understanding of Christ's love, are we accepting and benefitting from it? I know, lots of questions, but those were just a few of the things that came into my mind as I read this morning, particularly when I got to verses 17-19 where it talked about being rooted and grounded in love and having the strength and power to understand the breadth, length, height and depth of Christ's love for us.
I certainly know that Christ loves me, but there are times when I struggle a little with accepting that love. And here's something else. As my relationship with the Lord grows, I find that my understanding of His love grows and expands as well.
So what does the love of Christ look like to you? And how can we experience that love to the fullest? Tami W.

Great questions Tami. Studying/reading with the P4 group has been such a blessing! I love to read and hear how the Lord is working in other lives. Thank the Lord for you all and the ministry of BTTB.
The love of God.... is something, I believe, we cannot fully understand and/or fully appreciate with these finite minds of ours. I think we barely scratch the surface with our limited understanding. Even with the little that we do understand...we're OVERWHELMED with it, so how much greater must it be! If we have faith in Jesus in this life, one day we'll be with Him in heaven with a full comprehension of His love!
Amazing love! How can it be,
That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me? Amazing love! How can it be, That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?
Tami, I do not think I can ever understand the love of Christ for us. His love is immeasurable. Sometimes I may take His love for granted. If we truly have the faith (not just to believe Him but truly believe also in His revelations to His apostles) to go with the love we have for Him, then, we could move mountains but even though we have faith sometimes we question it. I need to get to the faith of of a "mustard seed" then in my opinion I will fully understand His love - the breadth, length, height and depth.
God loved/s us so much that He created us in His image. There is no one so merciful, compassionate and forgiving and no matter how much we mess up,He still loves us and wants us to accept Him. When I look at how we His people are behaving to me it is worst than Sodom and Gommorrah. For me I will continue to keep in His Word and I keep praying to Him that He will keep us from evil. I think we need to picture Him on the Cross at Calvary, the pain yet no anger, the love and sorrow on His face. His words "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do". Thank you Lord, for the mystery of your love and I pray for your strength to fully understand the breadth, length, height and depth of Your love.
Good morning. No I do not always pray the things Paul prayed in this passage. When I do, its a little more amatuer than what I read here. When I'm rushing through prayer at times to "check it off my list" I know my father in heaven is still there, but as I get more into His Word and Grow closer to Him I certainly experience and can accept His love more. And if I rush, my heart saddens because I know the Lord wants to commune with me and tell me things because he loves me so much.
That is a beautiful piece of heart art. It is a very good representation of what the love of Christ means to me. It is beautiful, multi - dimensional, and not static. Like you, Tami, I feel that growing in my relationship with Jesus causes my love for Him (and others, consequently) to grow, and my knowledge of His love to expand. I was just telling a friend that God's love is so expansive and I feel like He wants to share it, but because we are not so open to receive it, sometimes, He has to hold back. He can only give us what must be like a drop at a time from His wealth. Does that make sense?
The love of Jesus Christ looks different to me at different times in my life. When I struggle with financial hardships and Jesus provides a way when I didn't know what would happen or when I am faced with adversity and He shows me that it is okay, just bear it and it will be handled. When I see the sun powerful and warming in the sky or the white show covering everything. We have to take the good with the bad and sometimes when we think it's bad, its really not.
I believe that I am experiencing God's love each and every day as I read His word and getting closer to Him. I am understanding more each time I pick up the Bible and each and every time study. Understanding what Our Lord and Savior requires is very important to us, but we have to have a solid foundation. We need to be grounded in His word and in order to be grounded and doing what He wants and experiencing what God has for us, is to stay focused on Him and His word.
I am seeing Gods love today. my daughter is haveing her first child. That is Gods love at work through her. When you see a mom holding that child it is hard not to see Gods love. If I think the body I have is it, Then I am living without faith or spirit in Christ who love me alway's and forever. The spirit of God brings out the love of Christ in all we do. How could we even take a breath without seeing his love. The verse being rooted and ground is truely a strength. Gods love is found in what I see now, and then what will be seen in heaven. Love is sharing Gods love to every living person you meet. When gods love is in your heart your mind your soul. We can't wait because our excitement makes us look forward to what God is going to show us next. Gods love makes me live each day with one thing in mind, to share the love of the Cross with the lost.
This is one of my favorite passages! I had it memorized at one time. I often insert the names of my children into this section and pray it for them. Also for loved ones, others that are struggling in some way. Meditating on it to memorize it has helped me to absorb more of Christ's love and the enormity of it. Pausing and considering that He's more than I can imagine always exalts Him in my mind.
As I read and re-read this passage, I couldn't help but to think of other believers..and actually verse 18 pretty much sums it up - that we may be able to comprehend with ALL the saints what is the width and length and depth and height, to know the love of Christ, which passes knowledge. I believe that each one of us can only grasp a small fraction of this, so there is a need to study, discuss and share with others (similar to what P4 is doing). As believers, we can know, by experience, this love of Christ, which passes knowledge, as we learn more from day to day.
How can we experience this love to the fullest? All the fullness of the Godhead dwells in Jesus Christ (Col 2:9). We are filled by Him dwelling more in our hearts, by faith. We could never be filled with ALLL the fullness of God, but as we grow, this is something we move toward.
Congrats Frank to your daughter and her husband and the proud grand parents. Yes this is love indeed! May The Light always shine on your grandchild. All the very best. May God bless you all.
The love of Christ. Wow, just thinking all he took on for our sins. To have to carry that cross and be whipped and hung, all the pain is just unbelievable and he did it for me. And better yet he sent the comforter back to us. I haven't really tought about how many times He has comforted me. On the way home from work I was thinking about my Dad who passed away over 10 years ago and I started to cry and for the first time I realized how the Holy Spirit just quieted my spirit and gave me comfort. And just imagine how many years he has done that for you, me and everyone. God sure is a great GOD!
