John 4:7-26
There's so much in John 4:7-26. But what caught my attention today wasn't a particular verse or even the important message that Jesus is Living Water. Oddly enough, it was the how the woman at the well acted toward and communicated with Jesus. She wasn't afraid of him. She talked openly. She was direct. She was honest. She was straightforward. Think about that for a minute. Isn't that exactly how we should communicate with God? After all, He already knows precisely who we are, and that includes what's on our hearts and minds.
So what do your conversations (your prayers) look like? Are your communications real? Tami W.

Talking with God is very important and need to be done daily. He is the only Person that Loves you no matter what, and being honest when talking to him clears your mind. If you pray daily openly with your husband is refreshing to. The total honesty while talking to God openly strenghthens the bond between your husband an more importantly God. It will keep him first within the whole family.Praying to Farther, Son, and the Holy Sprit Renews and wipe cleans of your sins and stregthens your armor for the daily trials and help you succeed in being a living example for God.
Happy Birthday! My Dad's birthday was the same day. He has been gone for 20 years but still missed. Have a great day in the Lord!

Talking should be honest and open - not demanding. She didn't demand anything. She was expecting the Messiah, and knew how He would talk to her, so when Jesus came, she had no trouble tasting the living water. I also agree with Wanda.
I love your new P4, I am a 24/7 prayer warrior !!
Keep up the good work !!
If I'm honest....my prayer life stinks! I always end up praying when I'm in trouble, or when I need something. I need to really work toward just being in constant communication with God...like I do with my trusted friends!
Tami, I too believe that we should just talk to Jesus openly and direct the way we would speak with a family member or a good friend but with reverence. Sometimes I tell him about my day, not that He does not know it but it just feels good. I even ask if we make Him sad because we are so sinful and if He is sorry for creating us.
When I think that He makes us in His own image it makes me feel so good that He loves us so. This evening, I asked Him to provide the right Scriptures for a theme for our harvest window "dressing"- each group from church is required to come up with a theme to go with our ministry. Our very small group works with the "Care in the Community". Would you believe before the night was out I got some passages which I hope to share with the others tomorrow? So we should not be afraid to talk to Him. A lot of people say, "I do not know how to pray". He has taught us a beautiful prayer which we should say everyday and we should take our cue from that one and start with "Our Father in heaven".....
Thanks for sharing your beautiful birthday pics. We could see that you were really having a good time. May God bless you as you live to celebrate many more and keep Powered by 4 reaching all corners of the world to bring others close to Him.
When I talk to God sometimes I find myself saying things I think God wants to hear and then I realize, He already knows my heart so I may as well be honest, then I ask God to change my thought process. He is our father and delights in our fellowhip so I have began to speak with Him openly and honest. Something that stood out in this passage though was the people saying to the women they no longer believed b/c of what she said, but b/c of what they witnessed. People see Christ today through our actions. This reminded me of how important it is to live our lives in a way that people may see Christ in us, they can then identify the works of Christ around them, and believe.
Sometimes when I pray, I feel like I am babbling or something. I know that you must speak from the heart and sometimes my heart needs just to talk and have someone listen. Jesus always listens to me and is there when I call on him. Not many earthly friends can say that.
I agree with Tami's comment about the woman in John 4. She's one of my favorite personalities in the Bible exactly for the reasons that she cited.
Prayer is a very important part of our lives. Everything should start and end with prayer. I know that I am not always direct when I pray, but I also know that The Holy Spirit intercedes for us when we pray and still sometimes get off track.
I am going to take the Samaritan woman's approach and let my heart lead me in prayer.
