Goodbye Joseph :(

Genesis 50:14-26

I've really enjoyed our readings in Genesis the last few weeks and also our radio series on Joseph on Back to the Bible. Slowing down and really looking at and considering Joseph's life, was a good exercise for me. I found lots of little takeaways, but there was one big message that God impressed on my heart--that I could trust Him completely in all circumstances. Yes, I already knew that, but I needed to see and hear it again the last couple of weeks.

So how did Joseph's story impact you? Did God impress a message on your heart like He did mine? What did you learn, takeaway, realize, discover? I'd love to hear your thoughts. Tami W.

Working environments are very difficult these days. There doesnt seem to be any ethics from your superiors or co-workers. I am amazed at the dishonesty given to customers and corporate in covering up of anothers lack of care for thier job. Joseph's story of continually being under fire for his integrity and honesty gives me strength and helps me to remember that God really is in control and only when He is ready, will I be moved.
Blessings

Tami, like you I enjoyed the series on Joseph but have read the story a few times over the years but this three week series have really opened my eyes wider and I believe it has done it for many others. So thanks for spending so much time on Joseph and also sharing your views and thoughts, which allow us to open up.

I wish I could be like Joseph. All the bad things his family and others did to him did not seem to have been of much importance to him. He was more about serving the ONLY person he could trust and that is His Creator and Heavenly Father. I believe he did not like what was happening to him but he did not want to lose focus on the Almighty. He was quick to forgive. Quick to share and always had love in his heart and I pray that God will help me on the path to be like Joseph so I can become more like Jesus. Only then, can I fully focus on life eternal with our God and not focus on adversities because He has shown how He took care of Joseph and He will do it for us if we take up our cross and follow and obey Him. Hope you all had a good NRB meeting.

I appreciate that God always provides for you. Look at how Joseph went from a pit to being Potiphar's priveleged person only to land in prison where he eventually was invited to live as a prince in Pharoh's palace. God demonstrates that He will never leave you or abandoned you even in the worst of cirumstances.

The study of Joseph has been awesome! He has always been one of my favorite Old Testament people [now more so].

I was really impressed (and challenged) by his faith. Even in that dark prison cell all those years, he held on!

I really enjoyed reading other people's thoughts/comments. The Lord works in all of our lives in different ways, but we all need to maintain our faith and stay close to Him. Like Joseph did!

Joseph's story has ALWAYS impacted my life, but this time around, I was reminded of God's providence in EVERY situation and that forgiveness is a necessity in life.... It would have been so easy for Joseph to do to his brothers even a small amount of what they did to him, but he did not. There's power in forgiveness! Its been great.

These past few weeks studying Joseph with all of you have been great! Like many of you, I too have read and studied Joseph before, but this time there were a few "extras" that I received and I am ever thankful.

No matter what happened, Joseph accepted it and kept focused on what mattered. . . Following God! Nowhere did it say that Joseph was perfect, but it seems that although he was dealt some situations that were negative and not particularly his fault, he still forged on in a manner where God showed him favor. Joseph was a man who didn't allow the little things to hinder his walk with God.

In our daily struggles, we have to remember that through no fault of our own, as we follow Jesus Christ, we will be persecuted. As we face persecution, we must remember how Joseph dealt with his situations and "make lemonade". We must keep on praying and giving our life to Jesus Christ. He is bigger than any trial we will ever face.

The study in Genesis reminds us all that GOD uses even the bad and brings it to good. Joseph trusted GOD and he was protected. That is something that is really hard to do, to trust when things are not going my way as I preceive it. This is something I've been thinking on even before this study. At work sometimes things go as I preceive not my way and I find I get angry. This was a good time for me to read this lesson! As I want to be more even tempered like Joseph through it all. I think Joseph's confidence in who his GOD is, is something that we all can learn from. As Jill said work envirment has gone down hill we all just need to remember what Jesus has done for us and even though things are going so badly HE will work it out. In the end we are all winners in Christ and how exciting is that! God's blessings

I will miss the study of Joseph in Genesis. The most important take a way is to continue to trust God even though He doesn't work in our time table. I also appreciated the fact that Joseph always did his best even though he wasn't treated well at times. He was a shining example of a godly attitude.

Tami the study was awesome for me. In many ways the struggles that Joseph faced, we are faceing today. It makes me wear the full armour of god daily. I share this story with my co workers.I know this story well so they hear the whole story. Nobody walks away from me without know why god way is best and how they can know Jesus. I just try to meet them where they are first and then the holy spirit takes over. I wonder how many men could walk away from potiphars wife. Joseph was not going to do somthing that dishonor God. Today satin is still testing men and women. Today whole familys are torn appart by him. Godly people should do exactly what Joseph does walk away. Tami One thing that I learned this time my dreams do mean somthing .
