Going under the knife!

Psalm 115:1-18

Ok, today's blog is a little different. I'm having surgery this afternoon on my wrist. I've needed this operation for about 6 years, but because I'm a chicken, I've put it off and put it off even though my husband has been "gently suggesting" I get it done for quite awhile. So as I sat today contemplating my plight tomorrow, I read Psalm 115:1-18 and had to smile when I hit verses 9-11. Here's what they told me--trust in the Lord because He is my help and shield.

So what do you need to trust in the Lord for today? Whatever it is, how can you give it fully to Him? Tami W.

Tami, You and your surgery are in my prayers today.

Tami I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. You have the foundation. You have been building on that foundation for some time. You like myself have been studiying and praying and learning Gods Word. The more we build on our foundation the more easier it is to trust. We communicate and hold each other up in time of trials. And us being human is not perfect. Trust in our Lord is. Let him in and believe in him and you will have no problems. By his stripes we were heald. Take care dear.

I turn to Gods word. I Do the back to the Bible daily deveotions and in it today was Hebrews 13: 5-6. It stated

Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, I Will Never Leave you nor Forsake You. So we may boldly say: The Lord is my Helper;I will not Fear. What can man do to me?

We know Gods greatness how can we not Trust in Him after all we learn. Take care and take comfort that through Him everything will work out for the best.

Right now I need to trust the Lord with my parenting skills and for all those who are parents sometimes we don't know if our kids are listening or not or if the foundation was laid appropriatley. I am a mother of 3 ages 2, 4, and so to be 17 in 11 days. Because I am not always consistent with my behavior or practices spiritually I struggle with faith that in my imperfections God is showing strog for my family. So please everyone participating keep me in prayer.

Danielle, we'll be praying for your request. I think many parents share your same concern. Tami W.

Danielle-I think we have all been there. My boys are 1 and 4 and I struggle with consistency and fairness. Espcially how my time is divided. It's so easy for me to get housework done or take a minute to myself when the younger one is asleep-but that is when my older one needs my time.

Anyway...what I need to trust God with is things concerning my 4 year old. We have been working with the local school district to work on his motor and sensory issues. Well we have been working on getting them diagnosed. He qualifies for section 504 (for those who know what that means) but not an IEP-and because he is at a parochial school outside the district he will receive no services from them. :( The next step is to try and get the school district that his parochial school is in to take over. I have heard that they will-now I have to contact them and see. I need to trust that God will help us put a plan in place for him, and one that allows us to keep him in his school where he is learning to be a child of God as well.

Tami,remember He says Iam always with you.He is definitely there with you at the surgery room. We just need to trust Him,He is Who He says He is.You are geting out hail and healthy.

Hi Tami,
I am praying for a speedy healing of your wrist and I thank God that he showed you that you do not have to worry, just trust Him. God bless you and your husband.

There is always ways that we need to trust the Lord. We say we have faith and know that God is with us, but in the mist of trials, we worry. Everytime we worry, we are not trusting God. God has shown me over and over again that ALL I have to do is trust in Him. When I am shaken, I pray and ask God to show me what to do. He is truly my Helper and my Refuge.

Danielle - I pray with you and your family during your time of trial. I have two children 12 and 24. (Okay, one is an adult) :-) They are listening to you and looking at what you do. It is hard to be consistent when your children have different needs and as times are changing we tend to treat our children accordingly. My older son had much more freedom than the younger one does because we are living in some challenging times. Children are being attacked everyday. I thought my oldest son didn't get anything that I tried to teach him over the years, but when he was a teen and I heard him repeating things that I had said to an older cousin, I realized that he got it.

Tami W. - You are always in my prayers. The work you do for Our Lord is awesome. You know what questions to ask on the radio for those of us who have questions. (Or maybe it's just my questions). :-) You know the Source of your healing. You know Our Lord and Savior is Mighty in all He does. I will pray with you for your surgery and your quick healing. Thank God that you have a supportive spouse to assist you while you mend. I am praying for the surgeon as well. Pray and know, it is according to His will. Give God all the praise and honor for He is worthy.

I am thankful that My Lord Hears me and answers my prayers.

"(F) Their idols are silver and gold,
(G) the work of human hands.
5They have mouths,(H) but do not speak;
eyes, but do not see.
6They have ears, but do not hear;
noses, but do not smell.
7They have hands, but do not feel;
feet, but do not walk;
and they do not make a sound in their throat.
8(I) Those who make them become like them;
so do all who trust in them.

It is sad to think of those who don't know him. How lonely it must be to worship an idol! I am reminded that it is my duty to live a life that will show others a glimpse of Jesus. I am so thankful for my savior and that he lives in me and I in him!

" But(X) we will bless the LORD
from this time forth and forevermore.
(Y) Praise the LORD!"

I need to remember to trust in the Lord always and for all things!

Tami, You'll be in my thoughts and prayers as well. I need to trust God concerning issues at work. There have been three big hurdles. One was taken care of a couple of months ago. The second may be taken care of tomorrow. The third issue will be taken care of when leadership changes this summer. Pray that I have wisdom and strength during this time. It is fun to sit back and see God at work. Ok He's not always on our schedule, but He does take care of us.

Heather,

You and your children are in my prayers. I work with children and have counseled several families through the process of getting services for their children. Stay strong in the Lord, let Him lead you and be an advocate for your child.

I know it is hard to find time to take care of everything. The housework will somehow get done, spend time with your children and most importantly take time to care for yourself some.

God Bless you and your family

Hi Everyone,

Wanted to let you all know that I survived my surgery. It went well and I was able to get in to work today and actually recorded an upcoming week of Back to the Bible this morning pretty much pain free. God is good!

Thank you for all your prayers. They were definitely answered. Now I just need to adjust to the healing process for the next 4-6 weeks. Ugh!! Tami W.
