This week has been special. I've been in Thailand taking part in planning meetings with our BttB international offices. Each morning we've had one of our international directors start our day with a devotion. Yesterday we heard from David Logacho from Ecuador and he spoke on Psalm 13 (our reading for today). David's devotion touched my heart. You see, BttB Ecuador has gone through some rough financial times the last couple of years. Even so, David and his staff have never ceased to diligently spread the Gospel and teach God's Word wherever possible. David shared details of some of those difficult days with us but then concluded (just like King David) by praising the Lord and publicly proclaiming God's goodness.
God is good all the time. Any thoughts on keeping that fact front and center? How about taking full advantage of it in and through the tough times? Tami W.

In response to the question, what helps me hang on is knowing that His wisdom goes far beyond any human understanding and that only He knows what is good for me. In His time, is always the best time!!!
Can I just tell you how meaningful these have been for me to read each morning? Seems like each day it relates perfectly to my struggles. That said, I take time each night to thank God for what I have. I have His forgiveness every day!!! How I don't deserve even that!!! I have an amazing husband who works hard, is helpful with cooking, the house, and the kids. He is a Godly man who serves at our church through music and being a deacon. He loves us. I have 2 beautiful little boys that I get to stay home with right now. We have a house, with heat. 2 vehicles that run in good condition. We have amazing family and friends, and so much more!!! No matter what you are going through you can always see the many Blessings that God has given you!!!!!!!
Good truly is good and the way I try not to lose sight of that is by remembering his faithfulness in my times of trails and times of peace. The times of peace blessings are to me even more exciting because it is like if He had given you an unexpected rose to just say He loves you.
The tough times no doubt He is the only real security even when satan tries to bring doubt His faithfulness and grace destroys any lie that satan tries to promote.
Thank you Jesus!!!!
I think it's easier to keep the knowledge that we are blessed beyond words front and center on some days more then others. Especially now with everything going on in Haiti. I am sick right now, but beyond that I have a home to go to. I have a job, a loving husband, family, and friends. But most important is Jesus. I have been listening to The Joy Fm in Florida and they had a guest on the morning show that was in Haiti when the quake hit. During that mission trip they had met a principal of a school. After the quake he walked 10 miles back to the compound where the missionaries were staying to see if they needed help with the knowledge that his school was no more, and that his family had just gotten killed. But he has Jesus. And that's what he said when he got there. Hearing that really puts your life into perspective. Or at least it did mine. They also had a guard to keep the compound where they were staying safe and 30 minutes after the quake he showed up for his shift with a smile on his face saying how this will enable many more people to come to Christ. How blessed we are. No matter what's going on in your life God will use it for good.
it's a good thing to know that someone is there for you every time. what keeps me going on in life is that GOD is there, and HE will never fail and HIS love is unquantifiable.
This tells me that as christians we will go through tough times. This is okay cause it makes us humbel and reevaluate our service to our Lord and Master. We appreaciate the good times and we know that as long as we stay in our convictions and continiue to Praise our Heavenly Farther, Son and the Holy Spirt we will see a door open and Further blessings will come our way.I look at trials as a stepping stone for even greater blessings.
Thanks for all the comments. I am reminded of how faithful our God is to us in the good times and the bad.
God is definitely good and His greatest gift of all for us is that we are saved through His dear Son. It's so true that God blesses us naturally and He does indeed take care of us.. but just think that our soul will never die because of His goodness. That will last forever.. how much greater is that!! :)
Also, times of trial and times that don't seem so great are also blessings in disguise.. God is good, because through those tryings of our faith we learn to rely more and more on Him.. we learn to trust Him.. to focus on Him.. to love Him as He has loved us. Some of the hardest experiences of my life have been the best in that I was taught some very important things.
"Yes, God is good in earth and sky, from ocean depths and spreading woods, ten thousand voices seem to cry, God made us all and God is good". this is one of my many favourite songs. Today, I am not talking about faifulness in my own life and He has been but today, I want to say something about His faithfulness to the people of Haiti. As Dr. Woodrow Kroll says in His Bible Study yesterday just to quote, "He (God) does not allow tragedy to come into our lives for no good reason". I believe that wholeheartedly. I believe that only good can come out of Haiti after this adversity. Have you seen the miracales? How people after many weeks have been drawn out of the rumble? The last one I saw was a young man with a smile on His face. God is always faithful and just and all we have to do His accept Him, believe in Him and trust Him no matter what adversity befalls us. Let us give Him thanks and praise for all HIs blessings and let us be like Joseph who was sold by His brothers, who went through adversity after adversity and never succumbed to temptation but trusted in the One Person he knew He could trust, our God, Our Heavenly Father. So today when adversity comes to you just call on His name and leave everything to Jesus.
May God bless the people of Haiti and all of us this day and take us through the weekend. Thanks to all of you for sharing from the heart and thanks to God to allow you to share them.
God is good, All the Time! We have to remember to praise Him and thank Him no matter what our circumstances may be. I start my day with Him giving thanks and praise and I try to end it the same way.
For me, keeping His word near and reading it often keeps me focused on God. A prayful life keeps me in tune with Our Lord and Savior and we should be praying, praising and thanking Him with each step that we take.
