Christmas is finally upon us so we're going to read the Christmas story in Matthew for the next two days. We jump right into ancestry and family trees which can be slow and a little dry to read. But this lineage is there for a reason. So I encourage you to read through it (slowly) thinking about the progression of generations. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with the information you find throughout. And, of course, I'd love to hear from you about what you discover or just any thoughts you have on Matthew chapter 1.
The Christmas story is one we are all super familiar with. So how can we approach it with fresh eyes this year and beyond? And, just because I'm curious, who is your favorite character in this story and why? Tami W.

It must have been really hard for Mary to keep the faith during the time she was unaware of Joseph’s final answer. I guess my favorite character is the Holy Spirit… Can’t help but praise him even now for guiding Mary and Joseph through this most important event of all time for mankind.
Joseph is my favorite character because he believed the angel and trusted Mary. He must have been a very special man and must have truly loved Mary since their lives must have been difficult. What an interesting life they must have led! Thank you for this study, I am truly blessed by Powered by 4.
Is it possible that we don't have the Christmas story exactly correct? The manger scene is not quite pictured correctly. The location of the birth was not in a stable, but in an area set up for birthing lambs. The tower of the flock, Micah 4:8 the tower of Migdal-eder, which is the place where the sacrificial lambs were birthed and even equipped with all the necessary birthing equipment I.e. swaddling cloths. This explains when the angels came to the shepherds and announced the birth that they new exactly where to go, also why the inn keeper would send them to a place where birthing naturally took place all of the time.
Do u think Paul E P. is correct??
