Tough love

Zephaniah 3

Well, today is our last day in Zephaniah as well as our last day reading minor prophets (at least for now). As we start in with chapter 3, we're still seeing judgment and discipline. But the further we move into the chapter the better it gets. It's been tough going up to this point, but God is so good and we see that goodness displayed starting in verse 9 and continuing to the end of the chapter. I love how Zephaniah concludes with a message of restoration, hope and joy.

So let's wrap up Zephaniah by applying it to our lives today. What does this chapter and/or book show us about our relationship with the Lord? What encouragement can we take away from Zephaniah? Tami W.

Thanks to this reading today, I am reminded of what Emmanuel truly means. Of all that God has done for me and all that He desires to do for me. For all who are humble and meek and in such great need of Him.I am reminded that God is with me and that He is mighty to save and...how cool is this ... "He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing." What more could I want? Thank you so much, God of Israel!

No matter how much we screw up and undeserving we are he still loves us. His Grace will restore us. His love for us never falters and never will he forget his promises to his people. Like a good farther he has to correct his children and revocus them to get them on the right path. We can always call on him and lean on him and trust that he will do what is best for us. We can rejoys in his love and know that he will sustain us.

What i get from this book pertaining to our relationship with God is that we have to take our relationship with God seriously , we have to be careful of the things that get in the way such as our pride, worshipping of idols and even failing from seeking after the Lord. God wants us to be his people, he is a jealous God, and he desires his people whom he sent his son Jesus to die for to serve him and him alone. For me i want my relationship with God to be how God would want it to be ,one of total surrender to him, fearing him, serving him, loving him, being in awe of him, being obedient to him.God is indeed a great God,and i am encouraged that even when we deserve his judgement, even when he chastises us, he allows us to repent,he forgives us and he restores us to him.Jesus has come and indeed we have a living hope that he is able and has indeed reconciled us unto God.

Forgive me Father for continuously trying in my own strength. Then the disappointment is even greater because You were not the One leading me. Pray Jesus that I will keep my eyes on You, and do things in Your time and Your Way. Pray for my loved ones far from You.
