Here we go with Micah. As with Hosea, this probably isn't a book most of us have spent a lot of time in. But that's all going to change this week as we work through this little book together. :)
Thought you might be interested to know that Micah prophesied in the same general time period as Hosea. However, Micah's message was directed toward the Southern Kingdom, while Hosea's message was directed toward the Northern Kingdom.
So did you see any similarities between Hosea and Micah? Or maybe you picked up on something different? How about dropping me a note and telling me what you saw? Tami W.

I really miss the questions. Will they be coming back any time soon? Have a wonderful holiday.
In Micah 1, he is telling the people because of their sins they will be conqured and isreal will fall as punishment. Micah 1 letst them know that they realy screwed up and now they have to pay the price and what a punishment, he lets the people know that God is realy angry. Hosea's was softer. He told the people that they screwed up and God is angry but he gives the people hope! The people know that they are going to get punished but as long as they repent and come back to God the people know that they will be restored and forgiven. God still loves them, and because he loves them he will punish them like a farther to bring them back to him.
Hmmm. I guess I agree w/ Wanda that Micah's words seem more harsh. But he does mention that He is sending Someone (Jesus, right?)
One simililarity between Micah and Hosea is the sin for which the people are guilty - unfaithfulness / idolatry. See Micah 1:5-7 ("prostitution", "carved images", "idols").
