We read today about Israel forgetting God. Now as we sit here today as Christ-followers forgetting God probably seems impossible. But don't jump there too quickly because things can change. Verse 14 says 'For Israel has forgotten his Maker' and verse 4 tells us ''They made kings, but not through me. They set up princes, but I knew not.' What we're reading about in Hosea is a monumental turning away from Christ. It didn't happen over night; it happened little by little over time.
So how do we guard against that chipping away effect on our relationship with God? How can we ensure that He stays at the forefront of every part of our life? Tami W.
P.S. How are you liking Hosea? We're half way through. Any surprises? After reading it for the first week, I'd love hear any thoughts or comments you may have.

Hosea is very convicting... I see myself too often in these verses. Yet, God never leaves me nor forsakes me - I am His chosen! Praise Him!
It is so easy in todays world to lose sight of God. We all get so busy with life. If I miss just one day of doing my devotions, I tend to not do them the next day...or the next day...etc. I really have to push myself to read my devotions everyday. It takes work, but it is ALWAYS worth it!! My husband and I always make it a priority to go to church. It is so wonderful to go and get "filled up" with Christ! These are just two of the things I do to guard my heart against the chipping effect.
I have just returned from a three-week holiday with family in Florida. My family and I attended the wedding of my nephew and his fiancee. Before we left, while we were there and on our return home, God was always with us. We are truly blessed. The wedding was beautiful and for the first time a lot of our family, brothers, sistes, cousins and friends were present. Please pray for Dean and Nancy (Nephew and new niece) that God will continue to bless them and keep them secure in His love. I thank God for His love, blessings and mercy.
When we keep in constant prayers, reading His word and just giving Him thanks all things go well. I speak for myself because I believe in Him, trust Him and will always walk with Him. I have and will stumble at times but He is always there to lift me up and let me know (as Tina says) He will never forsake me.
So let us all try to talk to Him each day and see His goodness. Glory be to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.
Hosea has struck home like never before. thank you jesus for your love and forgiveness. you have opened my eyes and i bow in shame at the foot of your cross.
