All I could think as I read the first 13 verses of Hosea this morning was How sad. What a terrible depiction of Israel and her treatment of God. It was depressing, but also convicting--a good reminder of just how independent and sinful our hearts are yet today. :(
That's why my heart began to soar as I read the rest of Hosea 2. Verse 14 spoke volumes to me. God is so generous, so good, so loving! I was humbled as the realization sunk in that God has ALWAYS loved me completely.
Sometimes I discount the vastness, that completeness of God's love for me. I think about past mistakes and sins and, before I know it, I start doubting and thinking to myself How could God love me because... (you fill in the blank)
So how do we let go of all the junk and simply accept God's incredible love? Tami W.

I was struck by 2 things in this amazing passage: 1)God's jealousy, likened to a jealous husband whose spouse has been brazenly and repetitivly unfaithful; 2)that it is God himself who has dealt with the "junk" of our unfaithfulness. Throughought vs 14-23, there is the repetitive "I will" statements, which remind us that it is God who has acted to restore the relationship, not the unfaithful spouse. The only "you will" statements include calling him "my husband", and "my God". So, I think that accepting God's love and allowing him to restore and revive our relationship, is about focusing on him, and what he has done for us. It is all about him.
Reading such passages as this helps me to let go of the junk, because it reminds me how great is his love, which covers over the worst of sins. Recalling what I have been saved from (a life lived in disobedience and unfaithfulness), actually enables me to bask in his incredible love.
All I can say is WOW. God has used this passage today to show me that He has everything under control, that He is going to take care of some things that are happening with family members that only He can. It gave me such peace to know He is dealing with it, and will restore it.
Here here Julie. Thank you for your comment and the reminder that God is indeed in charge of everything.
This is amazing.GOD'S love is unquantifiable,me no one can have or show this kind of love. It shows us that GOD HIMSELF IS LOVE, nothing can dispute this. Upon all that the Isrealites did through their disobedient and worshiping of baal, yet HE show them HIS LOVE.The same way HE'S showing us HIS love this day, what can say about the giving of HIS only begotten son,JESUS to die for our sin.
This touching, the only way to show that i appreciate HIS love for me is to let go of the junk, give HIM thanks always and continue to enjoy HIS LOVE.
In Spite of....... He stills lives us. After reading Hoesa 1, I was wondering if I was reading the bible. It doesn't matter what the sin is. God loves us reguardless and wants us to revive, restore and maintain a relationship with Him. It does not matter how long it takes, He will not forsake us but allows us experiences the effects of or decsions He does not approve of . Why! If we did not we would npt know the powerful love of God. Therefore, just as God is constantly forgving us for our sins, we need to be forgiving to our brothers and sisters of their sins as well.
God sends me a message through you for my situation. I thank our ABBA Father everyday for people like you that take the time and effort to spread his most precious WORDS. GOD BLESS YOU!!!!
