Luke 4:1-15
No one is exempt from temptation. Today's passage (Luke 4:1-15, the temptation of Christ) is probably one of the most well known passages in the Bible. Even so, I never get tired of reading it. I want every reminder I can get that temptation, and the sin that results when I give in, are always lurking, and the minute I let down my guard, I'm probably going to slip.
So let's tackle temptation head on today. Think about those areas in your life where you are most easily tempted to sin. Are there any specific things you can do that would be helpful? What can we do generally to make sure we're prepared to resist and deal with temptation when it comes our way? Tami W.

Good morning everyone. There are certainly areas in my life that i have been tempted and at times have surrendered to those temptations but thank God "there is forgiveness with God that he mayest be feared"(psalms 130 v4). As i read from the passage i came up with these questions:was Jesus led into the wilderness for the purpose of just to be tested or did he go to be spiritually strengthen for his ministry ? Did satan really think he could get Jesus to do what he says or was he doing what he did best attacking because he knew Jesus would be physically weak though he knew that Jesus is indeed the Son of God? Jesus was indeed prepared for this spiritual battle though he was weak physically, because truly this was a spiritual battle and he won with the truth of Gods word. A lesson for us that when we face temptation or spiritual battles we should be equipped with the truth of Gods word .We will not always avoid temptation but we should always be prepared to counteract temptations with Gods word. Verse13 reminds us that the enemy will come at us at an opportune time even when we dont expect it so we should always stay one step ahead knowing that "our adversary the devil goes around seeking whom he may destroy and devour but that we should resist him steadfast in the faith" 1 Peter 5vs 8-9 Gods blessings ,have a great day.
We must keep in the Word because, if or when we let down our guard, Satan is right there saying "aha gottcha". So rise early in the mornings and praise and give thanks to our God and ask Him to take us through the day. Memorize your favourite verse or a Psalm like Psalm 23 or 121 and say it during your day and before you go to bed, thank Him again for all His mercies and His blessings.
Psalm 119:105 - "Your Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path". Believe it and say it.
Linda and Diane L have your prayers been answered? I have been praying with you, Believe that Jesus is aware and if He has not answered as yet, He will.
May He continue to bless us and our families and friends and strengthen our faith.

There are areas when I am tempted to sin, when I am angry I am tempted to swear and many times I fall into the temptation. When I feel that I am about to swear, I need to say to myself "What would Jesus do?".
Other times when I am under stress, I tend to be short with others. I also need to say to myself "What would Jesus do?".
Its easier said than done but from my experience in the past, once you start saying it, it becomes a habit.
God will help us to get away from temptations, all we have to do is ask Him. That is the key point though.... often when we are being tempted, we forget to ask Him for help and we think we can do it ourselves.
