Luke 3:1-38
No sugar coating found here. I love it when I'm reading and without even trying a vivid image pops into my mind. That's exactly what happened today here in Luke 3. I could almost see and hear John preaching--and I do mean preaching! John was definitely bold in his approach and he didn't pull any punches. I actually thought he was pretty abrasive. But oddly enough, the people John was talking with weren't put off.
So the takeaway for me today was that I need to be bold for Christ. But that doesn't mean I have to use the same approach as John (whew) and neither do you. So what does being bold for Christ look like for you? Tami W.

"... Bear fruits in keeping with repentance..." What a hard thing to face -- my intellectual confession has to have real world effect. Would John speak the same way to me today? Probably. In an age of 'me first', I really struggle with integrity in my daily behavior.
Well, to me, being bold doesn't have to be standing on a street corner and preaching your heart out; although if that's your thing, go for it. It can be simple too. For example, if someone asks, "Why are you so darn happy all of the time?" you would be bold to tell them the truth....and spread the good news. Another example, when we stumble, and someone asks, "Why did you do that? I thought you were a Christian!" you would be bold to tell them that you indeed did wrong, and spread the message of God's grace!
