Revelation 22

We can learn plenty from a name. Jesus tells us in Revelation 22 that He is "the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end." What do these names convey or communicate to you?

Throughout the Bible there are many names that refer to and describe Jesus. Is there one or maybe two of those names that have helped understand Jesus better or grow closer to Him? Tami W.

We did a study at church several Sunday's ago about Names of Jesus. One was the Shepherd....he guards us, because we are His flock. Number two, he is the door..the only way to get to the sheepfold is to go through Him.I just thought it was beautifully illustrated how Jesus uses all these different names to describe his many different functions in our lives. I don't think I did the sermon any justice...LOL!

I think the most comforting name of Jesus for me has been Emmanuel. Knowing that God is with me has helped me through dark and difficult trials. It is easier to face life's unknowns with the knowledge that I am not facing them alone.

Alpha and Omega convey to me that Jesus was from the beginning of creation. He was before the world began and He will be the one to bring everything to a close when He returns in His Glory. I believe that His Coming is imminent because His Word does not fail. Heaven and earth will fall away but His Word will NOT. So we must prepare for "this day". This is Gospel.

Other names that have helped me to know Jesus better? There are many, Emmanuel "God with us", Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father and the Prince of Peace. All these names tell us that Jesus is to be Loved, worshiped, praised and blessed. All His names represent "Unconditional Love". With names like these, how can we help but to love Him?
Let us pray that he will continue to bless and strengthen all those who seek lead others to Him.
Thank you all and may He continue to richly bless us.
