Is your heart on fire?

Luke 24:1-35

I love reading the accounts of how Jesus showed himself to his followers after his resurrection and particularly Luke 24 which contains that famous walk to Emmaus. My favorite part of this story is right after the two realize they had been with Jesus and they say "'Didn't our hearts burn within us as he talked with us on the road and explained the Scriptures to us?'" (verse 32). Every time I read how their hearts burned within them it prompts me to think about where my heart is when it comes to Jesus.

So how about joining me in this thinking process? When was the last time your heart burned in connection with Jesus? Why was that? And what can we do to keep that fire burning? Tami W.

Last time was this morning when my grandboys and I gave thanks to Jesus for a spectacular day! Giving thanks changes the heart and the focus to Jesus and not to yourself. Plus, God gave me a 6 yr old and 4 yr old to pray with this morning - how awesome is that!!!

my heart burns within me right now because I have a renewed desire to have great prayer life with my Lord. It's so hard to describe the hearts' burning within so I won't go there but it's exciting and so promising that I know the Lord is helping me make it a reality. He loves to grant good gifts to His children!! BR

Just like Tina said, every time we commune and fellowship with JESUS especially when thanking HIM,you feel closer to HIM.Whenever i think of HIS love toward me and my family, and started to appreciate HIM, my heart burns for HIM.The only way to keep the fire burning is to continue to thank HIM and give HIM PRAISE.An adage in my tribe says:if you know how to think, you will know how to give thanks. so thank HIM the more because HE is everything to us.HE worth our heart being burnt for.

I appreciated all your comments. It's been a rough morning. I had to stop myself and ask God "Ok what should I do in this situation."
Your comments have also reminded me to praise the Lord. Praise and worship bring us right into the God's sanctuary.

I love all the comments and just want to reiterate what you have said - it is so true that when we thank and praise the Lord we feel on top of the world and feel He is with us. Let us just keep showing our appreciation and love to Him.
