Luke 2:1-21

No matter who you are or what you do, Jesus is for you. How much thought have you given to the players in the Christmas story? Today, I decided to stop and take some time to really think about the shepherds. The first thought I had was . . . why the shepherds? Why were they the first to hear of Jesus' arrival on earth? I had a number of thoughts but one was predominant. Here's Jesus, the most important person ever coming to our world yet the first people to be introduced to Him are some of the least important. That speaks volumes. It tells us that God loves every single one of us--no matter who, what, why, when, where... And verse 10 confirms this. It says "And the angel said to them 'Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.'" (emphasis added).

Sometimes it's hard for me to understand and accept that God loves me--unconditionally. Can you relate? So how can we work on not just accepting this incredible love, but embracing it fully? Tami W.

Tami, you asked the question "why the shepherds" I do not know, but I am wondering could it also be that as Jesus taught us, He is the Good Shepherd and His love for His sheep is unconditional. His sheeps know His voice. Jesus, who is the King and Lord and Saviour, He who owns the heavens and the earth and all that is therein, came down as a poor and humble man who had no where to lay His head to die a cruel death on the Cross at Calvary so that we can have salvation and live. It boggles my head, but I do believe that He did this for me, because I feel His love and am a receiver of His many blessings.

I can only continue to work on keeping in His Word, loving Him and my neighbour as myself. Sharing my testimonies with others including family and friends to show how Wonderful He is. He has never, ever let me down, what I thought was a "let down" showed me later in life that it was a blessing. So if we continue to pray He will guide us, and when we are side-tracked He will be there to show us the way. His Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. Psalm 119:105
May He continue to strengthen His people to always share His Word.
Joan
