God is good all the time. There are times I tend to forget that, but David never did. We're in Psalm 18 today, and it was just a tremendous reminder to me of God's goodness, faithfulness and love. David starts out by giving us a big picture view of what God has been and is to his life--my rock, my fortress, my deliverer, my refuge, my shield, my salvation. Then he provides us with some specifics and details. He starts with the tough times and then leads us up to the good. By the time we reach the last few verses, David is exuberant and freely praising God. There is no doubt in his mind that God has been and will continue to be good all the time.
So how can we model the attitude and heart of David that we see here in Psalm 18? Do you have any examples of God's goodness in spite of tough times? Encourage us with your story! Tami W.

I agree with David. God is ALWAYS good. He promised He would be with us always. I remember December 2008 when my father had a minor stroke. God left Him well. The only thing we learned that was wrong was he had high blood pressure. However, God was with my father and with our family during this hard time and after. I am very grateful with God that my dad has his reason and every movement in his body. It's like nothing ever happened. Praise God for He is good!! We don't deserve God's goodness, but He loves us so much that He is good with us.
I was very dissappointed in not getting a particular job. One of my Christian friends looked at me and said "ok Carol, can you praise God in these tough times too." It really made me stop and think. Right now I'm going through a lot of harrassment type issues at work. Every other door for another job has been closed by God. I keep reminding myself to be grateful I have a job. This is a good reminder to me to praise God even when things are going so well.
To Carol,
I've been in similar situations like you and your job in different times and areas of my life. The more I would try to "change" my circumstances the harder it became. I found that I was put and left in these circumstances for a reason. Try to hang in there to receive your next direction from God. (Have you reported your harrassment?)
For over a year and a half I have tried to get my son and his life back on track. He became very distant due to the influence of his girlfriend. Recently, I asked God to open my son's eyes and heart and almost overnight he did. My son has experienced a miracle from God! Praise God, he answers our prayers in His time and I am forever grateful for this.
Have a great day!
