It must be in our DNA. We're reading in Haggai over the weekend and all I could think as I read chapter 1 was, if we're in the Old Testament, why does it feel like I'm reading about today?
God is unhappy with the people because he is no longer their desire or focus. They are caught up in themselves, what they have, what they're doing. But by the end of the chapter, we see a change of heart. The people reprioritize. They return to obeying God.
The US is one of the wealthiest nations in the world, and we have plenty of things and activities. So what can we do to keep our focus (or bring it back) on God and our priorities in order? How can we help and encourage other Christians and our church body to stay the course?

Greetings Tami from Barbados and thanks again foor your commitment to Powered by 4. The USA is one of the wealthiest nations in the world but things seem to be slipping because the leaders and most of the people do not put God in their plans. USA must go back to praying and asking the Greatest Leader (Jesus) of all times to guide and work with us. They must bring back God in the schools and in the homes. Before the Leaders start their day they must bow down to the Holy One seek forgiveness His guidance. We cannot do it without Him.
The USA is a wonderful country and accepts people from all over the world. They are the first to send support to hurricane-ravished countries or assist when other nations treat their people with disrespect. The US is not the only guilty party, all our countries are guilty. I pray for the USA, my country of birth, Jamaica and my new country, Barbados that these countries will get out of the sinful ways and set godly examples for other nations to see their good works so that they too may change their ways and glorify our Lord in Heaven. I believe and in my heart know that when this happens God will forgive and help us.
Let us as a group continue to pray without ceasing for our nations and their people.

When we put our own needs and desires ahead of God's he has a way of bringing us back to reality and sometimes it's harsh and it hurts! (I know from experience) But, in the end we grow closer to Him and within ourselves.
Enjoy your day!
Many times we get wrapped up in our world and we forget to keep God as our number one priority. By leaving reminders in our homes, cars and workplaces to keep God as priority will surely help us from forgetting. Putting notes on the fridge, post it notes on our computer, keep a Bible in our car in plain sight and a nice plaque at our work desk are great ways. I also like to use desktop wallpaper for my computer with Scripture on it.
Surround yourself and your life with His Word. Pray all the time in all circumstances.
Sometimes amid the demands of daily life, we lose perspective. Life seems out of balance and the pressures of everyday living seem overwhelming. What is needed is a fresh perspective , a restored sense of balance.... and GOD'S wisdom.
This is from a book I read,
If you lack knowledge, go to school.
If you lack wisdom get on our knees.
America we need to be on our knees.Christains, we need to be on our knees.
