Let the judgments begin. All through the Bible God let's us know that justice will be accomplished in His time. Well, here we are in Revelation and the time has come for judgment of this world. Jesus, depicted here in Revelation 6 as the Lamb, is breaking open the first six of the seven seals on the Scroll. As the seals are broken, the judgments start coming forth. The images are frightening and the chapter is full of devastation, destruction and death. There's no question that God is God and that He is in control calling the shots.
Through Revelation God gives us a glimpse of His justice, and as a result, we know these horrible things are coming. So what do we do today with what we've read and learned from Revelation 6? Is reading Revelation changing any of your thoughts or attitudes on what Christ expects of us in the here and now? Tami W.

Being a newer Christian and slowly learning of God and his ways;Ive become confused and even frightened with readings like this. I find myself caught telling myself we are not capable of being sinless and ( that is why Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice);yet we are called to"go and sin no more" as explained to some of those he healed in the scriptual readings. I am constantly uncomfortable with myself and on guard and at heighten sense of my thoughts and actions. Yes I realize that we as individuals are capable of choice but the right one (even known)is not taken at times. While I also realize this is good that do hold myself accountable; it is almost obcessive to a degree.
I know for me it means never cease a moment to witness to an individual. Stand on the word. Stay in the word and constantly study the word.
It makes me all the more grateful for the righteousness of Christ. Paul wrote in Rom 7:18 that there is nothing good that dwells within my flesh. There is no good in me at all, save and except God. If His spirit were removed from me, I would be most wretched.
Because I have His spirit dwelling within me and because of His great love toward me, it spurs me on to do what is good in His sight. Revelation reveals to me where I would be without Him. That causes me grief for those who refuse Him and reject Him, knowing what they will suffer and ofcourse their final end.
I'm grateful He was merciful and gracious to me, a wretched sinner. May I be able to open my mouth so the Holy Spirit can woo another like me into the Kingdom of God.
According to the Bible, we do not know the day nor the hour in which Christ will return. It could happen any second now, or It could happen hundreds of years from now...no one knows.
With this in mind, I think that this chapter about the realities of the apocalypse serves as as a reminder that we must do all that we can to follow God and do his will. In doing so we can win the battles of the continuing war between good and evil, gaining more souls for God's kingdom.
Sometimes it is difficult to figure out what God's will/plan is. However, a few things that I believe are always in accord with God's will are to read, keep, and apply his word to life, continually be a witness to others by our actions and words, and keep the Lord as the first priority in our lives.
I also agree with Gloria...even if the time of God's wrath happens now, we can be very happy for the sacrifice of God's sinless son, Jesus.
Thanks to you all at Bttb for encouraging us to focus on the messages in Relevation instead of things like the antichrist, beasts, and the other odd things in Revelation that first pop into one's mind.
