Revelation 19

Worship freely. Worship fully--Worship God and God alone. I love praising and worshiping so it's no wonder Revelation 19 charged me up. It's just filled with phrase after phrase of open, uninhibited praise of and for God. Plus, it provided me with some good examples of what my own praise and worship might sound and look like. Funny thing, though, with all the examples of praise and worship, it was two words of instruction that had the most impact for me. They're in verse 10. This is where John tries to worship the angel but the angel tells John to stop and then gives this command "Worship God."

So what can we do to ensure our worship is exuberant and uninhibited (like we see here) and only directed toward God? What might that look like in our lives? Tami W.

Tami; I cant help but wonder if " worship" can be something that may be counter productive to our relationship with God; ie. our desire for material objects only;I think the word "uninhibited" could be dangerous (especially for me). I am thinking we may need to "inhibit" our worship at times and redirect it towards our Fathers desires. I guess if we are truly grounded in Gods word we are less likely to practice uninhibited worship but that will not be the case at times.

Let nothing limit our praise..i was once told by a preacher that when her children were small and she was worshiping God in church they knew not to talk nor touch or try to get her attention for nothing, Cause when she is worshiping God she is totally focused on him and him alone.. Her words to us we to...

Respond:- no matter what the command is do it weather it be by the worship leader or the pastor follow through with it and open yourself to the commands of God..

Really Focus:-zone in on the words your singing in the songs and on who you are singing to which is God..

Remove Distraction:-if people around you won't stop talking move away from them.

Record Revelation:-take notes so you can look back on them later and record how the sermon made you think and what it made you think of..

Tami,

I take your words to heart. For the past couple of years my family and I have gone through a variety of trials and tribulations and we have wondered "why" from time to time. But praise G-d for His Word which gives comfort and encouragement. No matter what, I know who is in control, and through praise and studying the Word, He will see us through any situation with victory!

Blessings,

Ed S.

As the Revelation of Jesus said as John began to worship the Angel "Do not do it! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy." Revelation 19:10

The answer to what that is to look like in our lives is to be a servant unto the Father and always praising his name. I know we all have our own personal trials and tribulations, but God never gives us more than we can handle. It is our responsibility to serve him by showing the Light of Jesus Christ in our Christian lives to others in love. Through the Holy Spirit we can see the Son which is by the grace of God the Father we can conquer all things even death. So Why Not worship and praise God for everything (even what our tribulations and trials are) we are totally indebted to God yet by grace He gave us everlasting life.
Amen.
Thank you again Tami for your prayers for my wife and I. I continue to pray for you, this ministry and the ministry of Back to the Bible. I Thank God for you all.

I enjoyed today's reading, however I am struggling a little with what worship should and will look like. This is something that our church is arguing a bit about right now (traditional vs. contemporary worship). But in my mind does it really even matter what type of worship, just as long as it is sincere and real??? So why the arguing? And what does that type of worship even look like? What does that type of worship feel like? I really feel like I am missing the boat on this one. I want to worship and praise hime like he deserves, but I feel like I fall so short. I really want to hear some thoughts on Tami's question, what does exuberant and uninhibited worship look and feel like? And how would that affect my life?

Great comments everyone!

One can worship God exuberant and uninhibited with or without music, at any place or time. I could be in the quietness of my home, a park or in the middle of work and the Holy Spirit touches me and worship flows from my heart and lips.

I think if our life is Christ centered, we are keeping Christ with us throughout our daily "grind" that is also worship.

Enjoy your day!

To me true worship is when your back is against the wall, when things don't go the way you think it should, and all odds are against you, you still thank God for all he has done for you in your life, that is true worship. Worship is not about music, worship is from the HEART.

Justin O, I agree with your comments. God never gives us more than we can bear, 1 Corinthians 10:13, " There hath no temptation taken you, but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, Who will not suffer you to be tempted above that you are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it". (KJV) Think also of Job. Linda, as you have said we can "worship God at any place or time" so nothing should impede us from worshiping Him and giving Him thanks and praise.

Thanks to everyone for these comments which can only help us to grow in faith.
God bless you all

For me worship is always my favorite part of the Sunday church experience. I also like the comment from Kevin about worshipping God even when things are not going our way. I think I'm learning that lesson.

Oh this is so good. Reading Rev. 19 just brought tears to my eyes. Oh how they Love Thee.
