Relationship, relationship, relationship. When I read John 17, I was moved by the love and concern Jesus showed for his disciples and for all who will ever believe in Him (that's you and me, by the way) in his prayer. I just kept thinking, This passage is really laying out a loving, intimate relationship of which I am a beneficiary. How awesome is that???

Did anything you read in John 17 change the way you think about your relationship with God? How can we use this chapter to explain Christ to others? Tami W.

Thank you Tammy - this is such a helpful comforting passage helping me set aside my upcoming workday and week concens. Thank you Jesus for the depth of love in your life and message showing us the eternal and ever present love of the Holy Father.
I continue to pray that the good Lord lift you up in your care for your mother.

I think it's interesting that in vs. 3 Jesus equates our relationship with Him as eternal life: And THIS is eternal life, that they KNOW you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ Whom You have sent."

The very ending of this prayer, chapter, reveals the truth of how we can have a relationship with God the Father. "O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me. And I have declared unto them thy name, and declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them and I in them" King James Version.

Jesus states that we do not know the Father, however we can know the Father through him and that he prayed for all of us. It is a true blessing that God the Father sent the Son of Man to die for our sin. We must have a true relationship with Jesus so that we may share him with anyone whom we have relationships.

Praise God for the gift of eternal salvation through Jesus Christ.

Thank you Back to the Bible and the power of four for your terrific ministry, God Bless.

I love Paula's comment. It is exciting to see our relationship with Jesus as eternal. As long as we stick close to Jesus (the vine) we can be the branches.
