Good advice and warnings from Proverbs 7. The first three verses are key. We're instructed to treasure God's commands within us. So how exactly do we do that? Any practical examples of how we can "bind" them on our fingers and "write" them on our hearts? Tami W.

write them down, read them out loud, memorize your special verses, speak them to people in pertanent conversation, train your children with them and people newer in the Lord. Pray them back to the Lord. Walk in these truths and ways. People will be able to see them in your mind and in your ways. The truth will speek to them without words when you study and walk in them. I have friends and coworkers that know my Lord by my walk.
Let me just says that these words of proverbial wisdom saved me from total destruction in my young life. I had to pray hard that God would give me the strength to obey. I struggled, like we all will struggle (Paul in Romans 7), with the temptation to give into pleasure. But God gave supernatural strength and I now understand how the Holy Spirit can give us power (ability) to overcome every weakness! Thank God for Jesus Christ!
Young men and young women need to read, believe and obey these word today, more than ever before. They are one of the biblical secrets to joy that keeps coming back. Proverbs 3:5-6; John 16:17-33
I recently moved on a longer commute to work and, as a result, I moved away from my home church and Christian friends. I have felt alone in my walk as I have been surrounded by dark people at my workplace.
Recently, I listened to a sermon in which he described how David meditated on God's word day and night and that helped him to overcome his fears as he was being pursued by Saul.
Ps 63:6 When I remember you on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches.
I read a book called The Way of Agape by Nancy Missler and how it stressed the importance of meditating on God's love and letting it pour out to others. Based on a suggestion in the book, I placed scriptures on queue cards that related to how much the Lord loves me as that has been an area where Satan has attacked me.
Two of the scriptures that I have meditated on has been that has really helped me are:
Jn 15:9 As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you.
Isa: 2-4 When you pass through the waters I will be with you: and through the rivers, they won't overflow you; when you walk through the fire, you won't get burned, neither shall the flame kindle upon thee, for I am the Lord, you are precious in my sight and I love you.
By meditating on scripture it has really helped me keep my focus on the Lord and obeying Him.
