Proverbs 8:22-36
Wisdom Part II. Proverbs 8 is all about wisdom and last Saturday we looked at the front end of this chapter. Well, now we're on to the last verses and again, it's all about wisdom. Apparently, wisdom is pretty important. :)
So what did you learn about wisdom here in round 2 of Proverbs 8? Anything new? Or maybe something became clearer? Tami W.

As I read this chapter, I realized how faithful and mighty God is. He's been around since "forever." That gives me a lot of comfort knowing that my life is in the hands of a great God.
I learned a great thing about wisdom and I have been using it in my life every since and it has really made a difference. I would like to share it with you guys. Who knows you guys may already know this.
The word Folly: means lack of good sense or foresight evil.
The word Wisdom: means knowledge, insight, judgment, ability to discern inner qualities and relationship.
What does The Fear of the Lord mean?
It does not mean you should be afraid of God…
1.We should recognize the real power. God is ultimate power. The more we truly know God, the more we come to fear Him in a good way
Wisdom and Folly inevitably conflict: we have to choose which voice we will follow. One way to arrival at an answer is to ask the following question:
1. Which voice asks me to ignore the fear of the Lord?
2. Which one questions God’s ultimate authority?
We make our choice based on how the voice makes us feel or what it seems to promise. The way of wisdom doesn’t promise feeling it always points to the truth. The way of wisdom takes us more deeply into the healthy fear of the Lord__.
Thank for listening and have a bless day. dg
Darlene I really love what you wrote. It really encouraged me to post something for the very first time.I have been reading this blog, for several months, practically everyday. I feel we are all on this spiritually journey together. I like this daily Biblestudy we have. About wisdom, I will share two quotes, "Wisdom can be defined as that combination of knowledge and character that allows one to live in the real world in a right and godly manner."(From Grasping God`s Word--J. Scott Duvall &J. Daniel Hays) And "Wisdom is knowledge applied"(I can`t remember who said it.)
Great comments Darlene.
I see in this passage that God established wisdom before He did anything else. Wisdom was part of the equation as God put boundaries in place. When we accept the wisdom from God we are able to have appropriate boundaries as well, boundaries that help us to find life and joy and favor with God. Not in a "I am not allowed to do this or that" kind of way but in a "how wonderful that I have ALL of God's ways to rejoice in" kind of way. Wisdom helps us to know where to draw the line emotionally too, to discern what we are responsible for and not take on what is not ours. Verse 36 describes what happens if we aren't wise about that--we injure ourselves. I've been there and it is life-draining. I needed some help on that; thankfully God gives wisdom when we ask for it! Through other people especially gifted and through His word.
