We're reading John 1:1-29 today.

What an introduction! We're starting John today, and the first 5 verses give us quite the introduction to Jesus. Now I know we have 29 verses to read, but I'm only going to focus on the first 5 because they're so good. Verse 1 tells us this: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." The next four verses then provide more details and explanation.

What do you see and understand about Jesus from these verses? Anything you may not have noticed before? Tami W.

P.S. Dr. Kroll is starting an extended radio series on John today (Monday, June 1) on Back to the Bible. That means as we read through John on Powered by 4, we'll also be learning about John from Dr. Kroll on Back to the Bible (which is pretty cool). So how about joining us?

I'll look forward to going through John this summer.

Good Evening Tami,
In 1991 my wife and I were invited to a Small Home Group for couples, Their were 4 couples that came. We were the only ones that were not saved, or Born Again yet. Or may I say had not accepted Jesus as Lord yet. We found out this at a later time. We went for 8 months, once a month. Eight chapters of the book of John, which I’ll never forget. Chapter 1 in verse nine says he: is the true light which enlightens everyone. I was truly enlightened , I found out at 39 years old that Jesus was God. This was one of the most memorable times in my life. “Jesus was God” I started talking with him a little then, but really didn’t know anything else. It was a year later before I had a born again experience, making Him Lord of my life and starting living for him, really reading his word. I Love the book of John.
