I felt like God was speaking directly to me as I read Psalm 62. So I read it again just to make sure I really got the message. Here it is--God and God alone should be everything for me. Why do I say that? Well, look at these phrases from our text: God alone is my rock and salvation; God is my fortress; my hope is in Him; my victory and honor come from God alone; He is my refuge; I am to trust Him at all times.
Psalm 62 delivered a powerful punch to me (thank you, Lord). Did it have a similar effect on you? Or maybe God spoke to you differently through these verses? Tami W.

Tami,
These verses had the same effect on me. I absolutely love these verses. In a society where we are taught to accept many different religions and ideas about religion, this passage is clear. We can trust in God and God alone. I also like the idea of the fortress and refuge which implies He is our protector. Also any successes we have actually come from the talents and abilities He gives us. Lastly, if we don't have hope, we don't have much. We can put all our hope in God.
This psalm reminds me of somethin i shd embrace evryde coz it is real. The Lord is my evrythin! Wen the world is against me, He is stil by my side. Even at those times i dont know wat 2 say 2 Him, He stil embraces me.
Surely my hope, rest n salvation is in no other: only in God alone!
I think the thing that struck me the most was the several references to be silent (vs. 1 & 5). To be silent before the Lord and wait onhim. We just don't do that often enough anymore. At least I don't. With all the different distractions in our world, silence is hard to find. And waiting on the Lord, what is waiting? Our culture is so immediate, we expect immediate satisfaction of our every need and desire. I am going to be silent and wait on the Lord this week and hopefully that trend will continue into the future.
