Psalm 119:97-112

You've got to go to the source. If you want wisdom and you're wondering where to go to find it, here's some good news. It's readily available, and it's FREE!

Psalm 119:97-112 plainly lays out that the instruction we receive through God's Word is far superior to anything else out there. Psalm 119:98-101 tell us in a variety of ways that God's Word (statutes, precepts, laws, commandments, regulations) is the main thing we need to navigate our lives. All we need to do is read God's Word and apply it.

So you'd think I'd be all over this free offer, right? Well.......I am, but if truth be told, I could do better. This week for example, I've been distracted by gardening, even sleep and a couple of work assignments. So what distractions challenged you? What will you do to make sure they don't get in the way next week? Tami W.

Dear Tami,

I listen to the Back to the Bible every now and then. Also,I read out of Proverbs daily with the verse corresponding with the days date. I wanted to suggest this for listeners who want to read the Bible, but have trouble remembering which chapter they read last in their devotions. Also, praying for your ministry on the radio and for Dr. Woodrow Crow. He is a godly man and a great radio pastor. Can't afford to support you financially, but my prayer is that those who can will do so this year and in the years to come.

Love,
in Christ,
Ellen R. (26 year old married, mother of one -8 month old-boy named Eric)

PS.Please pray for my brother. He is 22 years old and a Christian. However,he is not serving God right now. Pray for him to come back into fellowship with God. He served God for awhile, but quit as a teenager.

I have to agree that it's easy to let daily activities get in the way of reading the Bible. For me work and a mother who is getting older takes a lot of my energy. Fortuntately, I do have an opportunity to read the Bible on the bus when I'm on my way to work.

This gives me an hour or so to read. Sometimes it's hard to concentrate, however. I just need to get enough sleep/rest so I can focus on my reading while I'm on the bus.

Ellen, we'll sure be praying for your brother. Thanks for letting us know. Tami W.

I too have trouble staying on course with daily Bible reading and devotions. I try to set aside 2 hours each evening between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM, but sometimes I miss the mark. When I get behind in reading I try to catch up the next day by starting a half hour earlier. Sometimes it works and other times not. What is important is that we make an attempt each day to set aside quiet time for God and Jesus. After my quiet time/reading with Jesus, I always feel so much better. Thanks Tami and God bless You.

There always seems to be something that will distract me. Like most of the other comments, I try, but miss the mark more than I like. It is a great comfort to know our heavenly Father will forgive my short comings and remind to lean on, trust, and be obedient to Him.

My hearts cry is for my husband and his two children (both adults) to come to know the Lord as their Savior. And for me to be light which will draw them to Him. To do this I must be in His Word, for there I find peace, strength and wisdom, and through the Holy Spirit.

Thank you for P4 it helps me everyday. May God continue to bless this ministry for His glory.

Recently I started reading the word of God and since then it has helped me to chase away every negative feeling & things which comes my way everyday. I keep the bible on my work desk and I read it whenever I get a break. I was a person who thought of the negative side of life and I couldnt come out of it eventhough how much I tried. But when I started reading God's word & whenever I feel bad or negative I used to apply the words from bible and say it to myself ,this helped me to chase away the fear, depression & hopelessness inside me. I know that whatever happens around me,God is above all things and that lord can change anything.I dont have a fixed time but everytime I get a break I read the bible now.

I could do a lot better!

I hunger and thirst for it, the word, and all that it is.
So refreshing this time of devotion. But, admiting again, I do run too long in between fillups. Thanks be to God. A God of mercy and Grace. He created me and all that I am. A perfectly balanced life; is there such a thing? I am still working towards that goal, not expecting to get there, but will still march toward it anyway.
Thank you again Tami for being here.
