I made the news today--and even in full color!! This week (May 1 to be exact) is Back to the Bible's 70th anniversary. So on Friday we're having our First Annual Center for Bible Engagement Lecture Series and a special banquet. As part of these activities, I was interviewed by the Lincoln Journal Star about Back to the Bible, its roots and where we're headed. I talked all about the importance of getting into God's Word, the research we're doing at our Center for Bible Engagement and, of course, having and growing our relationship with the Lord. (P4 even got a little mention.) I thought you might like to take a look so here's the link. Tami W.
P.S. What did you draw from Psalm 58 today?

Nice! Good publicity for a great cause and great ministry!
I saw a contrast in Psalm 58 between the way "sons of men" judge and the way God judges. Verse 2 says that people "weigh the violence of (their) hands in the earth." I know that I have often diminished the awfulness of my own sin by weighing it against the sins of other people. But God's judgment is based on His ability to see right into the heart of every person...He doesn't have to compare us with other people because He sees ALL people are equally estranged from righteousness.
When I read this Psalm, I am again humbled and SOOO grateful for the righteous Jesus Christ, who took the penalty for my sin (as described in vs. 2-5) in order that I might be covered with His righteousness.
I didn't realize that I could pray for God to judge a person. But now that I have read this passage & answered the questions, I think that if I pray for judgment it shouldn't be for revenge. I should pray for God to empower his Holy Spirit to speak to that person's heart to draw them to himself. It isn't about me or the wrong done to me, but moving that person closer to God. That way God gets all the honor & glory.
Hi Tami,
I really liked you said in the paper, and I am thankful for the Back to the Bible Ministry. I pray for Gods wisdom and blessings continue to be poured out on this wonderful ministry.
Psalm 58
Makes me think, I am glad I fear the Lord God Almighty. Im glad I know him, and wouldn't want to be on his bad side.
