Did you wake the dawn with a song this morning? (La, la, la, la) And, no, I'm not kidding. Psalm 57 is a great example of how we should live--regardless of our situation. The first 6 verses of Psalm 57 are David laying out awful circumstances (Saul chasing after him for his life). But then we get to verses 7-11 (which I love BTW) and we see David going off about singing praises and exalting God's name. David even tells us that he will wake the dawn with his song. He talks about his confidence in God and how he will give thanks and sing praises among the nations.
So how are you doing today, this week, this month? If you're experiencing some hard times, you can still praise God and, yes, wake the dawn with your song. If that's not the norm for you, why not try it? You might be surprised at how it lifts you up and helps you get through your day. Tami W.
P.S. We'd also love to pray for you. So if you have requests, send them in.

You'r asking, if I wake the dawn with a song today, and the answer is Yes. When me and my Husband were sitting down for a morning tea time together today, my Husband was asking me, are you sleeping? Nee ne, I'm singing Praises to the Lord right now in my Heart, I'm sitting at my Keaboard right now and have good music. In reality, I was sitting there with my Husband. That is what was going on in my Heart.
And when I read Psalm 57, it is so clear to me, that how important it is to Praise God at all times, no metter what your circumstances are. Some times I feel like I can't Praise God right now, the circumstances are to big. The good news is, that I don't have to follow my feelings. I can Praise God by Faith, knowing, that He will take care of my circumstances.
Praise God, for taking care of everything.
Gods Blessings
Thanks for the reminder to wake up praising the Lord. I woke up scared this morning. I have decided to go back to school to get my MBA in order to be better prepared to move into a management position. Of course this is very expensive. That's very scary for me. Also, I have a very difficult boss right now. You never know what he's going to come up with. Thanks for your prayers. I going to start my day off right now praising the Lord.
This bible passage really uplifted me and reminded me of God's steadfast love for all of us. No matter how unfaithful (or faithless) we have been, he remains faithful to us. With God, we are never alone even during the darkest of times.
"The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases. His mercies never come to an end. They are new every morning. Great is Thy faithfulness, oh Lord! Great is Thy faithfulness!"
This is a great passage. It tells me that God is always there no matter how bleak things look. Though the enemy is knocking at my door I will always call upon the name of the Lord.
I enjoyed reading your comments
Hi All,
This passage really spoke to me today, I have not commented before, but here goes. I've been feeling like I've lost my joy in just about everything. I know it's the devil steeling it.
This passage reminded me how praising our awesome God restores our soul. Why do I forget so easily after all he he has done for me? I thank him for his forgiveness and love. This is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it. Praise be to God.
Please pay for me.

I didn't wake with a la-la-la for a long-long-long time and today was no different as I was depressed all day long and then got into an argument with my wife over her smoking habit this evening. The only thing that gave me a little spring in my life was to see Tami W's picture in the Lincoln Journal-Star today along the wall on why people aren't as much a Christian as they should be. It was refreshing to see that and know that there is a lot of work ahead of all Christians to make others as happy about their faith as we are about ours! Maybe tomorrow I will be able to wake up with a song in my heart. I'm praying that I will.
Hi;
I try to remember every night to ask the Lord to give me a song in the morning. I started doing this about a month ago, and of course, He has been faithful.
You see I deal with a blood disorder, which, make my days very unpredicatble (sp). It limits me in many ways.
However, all glory goes to my (our) Lord Jesus. It is He Who brings me through each day, no matter my circumstance. Even when I forget to ask for a new song, He never fails to give me one, or remind in some way of His glories love.
How wonderful it is to have a Father in heaven Who loved us enough to give us such wonderful examples like the Psalmist.
Praise and glory to the most high God!
I've also joined in praying for all those with prayer requests...
God bless!
Hi Tami,
I am thankful for the tunes that play in my head, not complete songs, just the chorus usually, and sometimes not even all of the chorus. Sometimes its just one or two words in the tune playing away, over and over, Then I have a need to look up the whole song and read the words which totally ministers to me. Sometime I will ask my wife if she know what song it is with the little that’s playing in my head, and I kind of hum what I am hearing, and she knows the words sometimes. God knows what we need and how to reach us, and in a chorus of a song he has done that for me many, many times. He is a kool God and does truly love us more than we can imagine.
God Bless each one of you.
I am praying for my wife Cindy currently. She went to the Doctor yesterday and was told she needed an operation. In the last twenty years she has had this kind done twice before. 6- 8 weeks off is required. She told the doctor that she didn’t know how it would be possible at this time, knowing that we are Taking care of the additional children we have, and She just started her new job a few months ago in which they are very dependent on her. They are going to try Medication and Therapy for now. They said her bladder was not being held up, and she couldn’t pick up over 25 lbs. Both of the small Grandchildren weight more than that. I am praying for and asking The Lord for his help. We don’t currently know, but are trusting God for a solution for us.
Jerry, we'll be praying for wisdom for you and your wife as you look at different treatment options. Thanks for sharing. Tami W.
