Psalm 55

What an incredible promise. Psalm 55:22 tells us to cast our burdens on the Lord and that He will sustain us. Well I don't know about you, but on any given day I have a variety of burdens, sometimes big and other times small. Either way, based on Psalm 55 I should be giving them all over to the Lord. Yet, I don't always do that. Or it takes me a little while to let go and really give it over. Now I'm guessing I'm not alone here, right?? Do any of you do this? So what's up? Why aren't we taking full advantage of this awesome promise? And what can we do to change that? Tami W.

Tami - I semi-turn everything over the Lord - every minute of every day. However, I have been praying for my son for 3 years and have not seen a change (long story). I can't make the change, only the Lord can. I know it is His will so I pray with that knowledge. I wish it were sooner than later...

I believe that God wants us to try him(Malachi 3:10)and see that He is on the throne. As we "give it up" and see that we receive His peace(Philippians 4:6-9)that we shall entrust more and more to Him. Like the old commercial...."try it, you'll like it" and know that He is God.

I agree. I think we like to believe we can work things out ourselves rather than trusting God

Hi Tami,
I think, That my human nature automatically starts doing what I can in the natural and I haven’t developed yet ( but I hope to ) a way of giving them or it to the Lord right away. Have we prayed about it, and asked the Lord about it. He has all the answers. It seems as though we have to make a conscience choice to ask him for help, giving those burdens to him. And always he is there to takes the burdens from us.
