Proverbs 6:20-35
"Don't play with fire because you'll end up getting burned." That was a familiar warning from my parents growing up. (They were obviously familiar with Proverbs 6:27-28.) The message from Proverbs and from my parents was the same--stay away from tempting situations whenever possible. Wise advice because temptation is a powerful thing and it can take us down before we even realize it.
But, we can't always avoid temptation. So what then? I've found that the more I'm in the Word, the better equipped I am. And I truly believe that reading my Bible first thing in the morning really gets me in the right mindset for my day which always includes some sort of temptation. So what's your experience? How does being in God's Word affect you? Tami W.

Yes, I have been Playing many times with fire, and that's so true, I allways end up being burned. But the good news is, that Jesus died on the Cross for my Sin, and He allways has helped me out of being burned. So I'm fresh and new again.
And for me too, I find it very important to go in to Gods Word the first thing in the morning, than I have set my mind for the Day, next morning I do it all over again. One Day at a time, works for me. I allso enjoy it a lot.

Susanna,
We're so sorry to hear about your nephew passing away. We will definitely be remembering your entire family in prayer during this difficult time. Tami W.
Susanna;
May the Lord comfort you and your family during this time. May He keep you in His perfect peace. In Christ our Lord and Savior, Amen.
Susanna,
I'm so sorry to hear about your nephew and your father. I experienced that same pain in 2005 when my son died in a motorcycle accident and my father passed away 6 months later.
May you truly feel the loving arms of God wrapping around you and holding you. He'll make everything clear in His time, and it's all going to be much better than we can possibly know. Certainly far better than the grief you feel now.
May God bless you and comfort you!
Hi Tami,
Susanna
I also am praying for Gods comfort during this time for you and your family. God Bless You Susanna.
A few days late here, but Tami your question brought back a memory.
Back when I had a desire to explain to one of my sons how important it was to read the word, go to church, pray, and listen to the Holy Spirit, Etc.
What I believe the Lord gave me to help me explain to him was this.
I saw three vertical Lines, like a graph.( I use one to reflect a picture format of my sales for each year where I work.) One line was RED and it was called “Our Flesh” . The Second line was Yellow and it was called our “Mind-Intellect”. The third line was Blue and it was called “Our Spirit”. A question came with the three lines. Which one are you being led by? Which one is winning? If a person is not born again the Blue line is at the bottom, and when he invites Jesus into his heart the Blue line can start to grow. We feed our flesh all the time with so many things, food, entertainment, the list is endless. We feed our mind-intellect when we go to school and read books and things of that nature. Many sources are now available to us to "Feed our Spirit". But we have to choose to go after them. Our mind-intellect will team up with one or the other lines most of the time, but not always. Usually the one which is leading is the one we feed the most. So which one of the lines are we being led by. I truly want my blue line to win, so I need to feed it the word in any form that I can get it in.
Each one of us is special and wonderfully made. We should want to spend time in the word, allowing it to change us, so we can become what God predestined us to be.
We all have a choice to feed our red line which will cause us to sin,in which we can loose, or feed our blue one and win.
I Vote Blue
Jerry
