Our reading for today is Proverbs 4:10-27.
Our hearts are key. Solomon tells us in Proverbs 4:23 to guard our hearts above all else for it determines the course of our lives. That is so true. One of the best ways I've found to guard my heart is to read my Bible and be involved in activities with other Christians. It seems like the more I take in God's Word, study it and talk about it, the better equipped I am to deal with things that hit me during the day.
So with that said, thank you for being part of Powered by 4. It helps me and I hope it helps you too. I love learning and growing together!! Tami W.

Good morning all.
Yes today's reading is quit a bit of a challenge for me. I do know, that my heart has to be in order, before anything else.
I'm Sorry, I'm ganna go a little bit off the toppig here, but I do need some help in this other area bigtime.
I hope here is somebody that can help me out here. My background is very old fashion, but I've changed, I now where chlothing that is best for my Husband, like, pents, I've cut my hair, most of all I've given my life to Jesus. Now, sins my Father has passed away, now some of my Sisters have been just on my nerves, have written me letters so called (WARNING). It's all about 1 Corinthians 11,3-10. Everytime they write me a letter, that is what they're talking about. Now, I'm working on my anger first, that I will NOT Sin, even thou I'm angry.
Why do they not talk about vers 11 till the end. I don't anderstand. My questian is, what should I do. I've been Praying about it, no answer yet....should I give them a call, or should I just sit back and let them do what ever they want to do, and trusting God for His time and His will.
Please Help.
Thank you, may God bless you.
P.S. I do Love my Sisters very much.
Susanna, I'd like to comment on your question.
The 1 Corinthians 11 verses have to be taken in the context in which they were written. As Paul wrote, the temple prostitutes in Corinth left their head uncovered and wore short hair. Women who were married and in subjection to their husband displayed this by wearing a head covering. Apparently some of the women in the church at Corinth had taken their new-found freedom in Christ to an extreme. In their minds, they only had to answer to Christ, not their husbands. Paul was saying if they were going to run around with their heads uncovered--indicating they were not under authority, they might as well cut their hair as well and be like the prostitutes.
Obviously head coverings no longer indicate the same thing that they did in Paul's day. There are other symbols, however, that we could use to show this. The most obvious one would be the wedding ring.
For those who want to make culture issues a battle ground, the best approach, if possible, is to avoid these people. When it's your family, it becomes a little more difficult, particularly if they want to push the issue. Paul does say in Romans 14:19, "So then let us pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding." You might suggest that these issues be left up to you and your husband. Ultimately your responsibility is to please your husband (1 Cor. 7:34), not your siblings or other extended family members.

Proverbs: to me, like pages of Instructions for Life ( Simular to instuctions in learning how to use tools for a trade) Like using a hammer and nails, a seemingly simple Task, But, If I were going to learn how to use them, where or whom would I go to learn? How many fingers would I hurt while learning? How many nails would I bend as I practice? How many strokes will it take to drive the nail in, putting two boards together? And how much strength is required? What size of nails is required, and how do we choose? What is the correct amount of force or power required which will drive the nail to the correct depth? Does the hammer head need to be perfectly flat and centered with the top of the nail to get the results we want? Do we need a steady hand and good Perception of what is level and square?
So many things to consider for seemingly a simple task, So I ask, how does that apply to me?
Studying Proverbs ( Tools from Gods Tool Box ) and other books from the word of God (our instruction manual) helps me to learn about and how to use “Me” in Life, and in the world that I live in.
Seemingly a simple task, well, that’s the way it did look to me. That’s before I turned 40 you see. Then I let Jesus in, and my new life began, which opened my eyes to a way to really live.
Every Day I practice being a Christian, like replacing the old nature with the new.
You think it would be as easy as putting on a pair of new shoes.
Romans 12:2
2Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will. , (practice will help give you a Steady Hand and good Perception)
From proverbs 4:4 “Lay hold of my words with all your heart; keep my commands and you will live. (Learning How to use the Hammer and the nails)
And Eph. 5:26 to make her holy, cleansing[1] her by the washing with water through the word, (Keeping the Hammer Head Level with the nail head will keep you from bending the nail)
Luke 6:38 Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” ( Apply the correct amount of force or power when swinging the Hammer )
Psalms 19:8-10 (knowing the different sizes enables you to accomplish your desired results.)
8The precepts of the LORD are right, giving joy to the heart.
The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes.
9The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever.
The ordinances of the LORD are sure, and altogether righteous.
10They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold;
they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the comb
