Proverbs 4:1-9
Happy Easter Everyone! Well in case you missed it on Friday (Proverbs 3:13-23), Solomon is back talking about wisdom in Proverbs 4. Just another indicator of how important wisdom is. On Friday's blog, I asked how we get wisdom. If you haven't looked at that yet, take a minute to read Proverbs 3:13-23 along with Proverbs 4:1-9 and then send me your thoughts. Here are a couple of mine. The first and primary place I need to go to find wisdom is the Bible. It's full of it. I've also learned from a handful of wise people who have come along side me over the years--kind of a mentor relationship. Observing wisdom modeled in real life situations has taught me much. My problem is retaining it. I like the way Eugene Peterson writes it in The Message. "Throw your arms around her--believe me, you won't regret it; never let her go--she'll make your life glorious." I'll try to remember to hold tight to that wisdom.
As a teenager I soaked up the proverbs like a sponge! I'd say another way I attain wisdom is simply by listening to others' experiences. We are always quick to speak, but I always try to remember to be slow to listen.
Thank you again,
We need this so much. I pray for each one of my loved ones to know this truth. Such satisfaction comes in knowing the heart of the Lord. His wisdom in our spirit is better that the best meal I could ever eat. Open my heart Lord and fill me with your wisdom. I Thank you for this knowledge that you have placed before me. Like a buffet of the finest foods.
The thoughts of gratifacation are pouring and just wanted to share a few. Praise God.
