Did you read Romans 9:30-10:4 yet?

Being zealous for God is a good thing--right? As Christ-followers we are called to work and serve. But that work is a product, if you will, of our faith. If we're doing things to show that we measure up or that we're a "good person" we're missing the mark just like the Jewish people we're reading about here in Chapters 9 and 10. Faith first--then works. Tami W.

I have a praise report...I wrote a prayer request for my son back in febuary...just wanted to say my son has calmed down on his partying and he has moved into his own place and is more responsible...he is working 2 jobs and is spending more time in his apartment instead of out on the town.

Thank you for your prayers!!
My prayer was answered.

Good morning,
I understand that each of us have been given there own Cross to carry so to speak. But, I hope you don’t mind me sharing.

As I was studying last night my thoughts brought me to consider my comfort. My wife and I are not very comfortable now from the world point of view. As I have mentioned before we have recently taken on the Guardianship of Three of our Grand Children, not knowing when this will change. One is 18 Months, one is 3 and one is 6. We still have our son we adopted when he was a baby who is 9 now. Both of us are working fulltime. I don’t want to look at it from the worldly point of view anymore. I now prefer to look it from Our Lord’s point of view. This weekend we will have 3 more grandchildren visiting. The oldest is 5 and I am looking forward to spending time with him. Remembering when we adopted our Son Hunter nine years ago, our youngest at that time was 13. Worldly thinking people wondered why we chose to bring up another child. Well we knew that it was what God wanted us to do, without a doubt, and we are doing it knowing that I will be 66 when he is 18.

It seams we Americans have gone after and still going after things to make us more comfortable. Which is not a bad thing, but sometimes it seams to become more important than Serving The Lord. Getting out of our comfort level even though our flesh don’t like it is really good for us.I have found that God does more in us and through us when we are not so comfortable. So I am making a decision today to seek God and his word in this area of my life more than I have before. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us, and He will provide all the “comfort “that we need.

This passage shows me that it is" my reason "for doing anything in my life, whether at work, at home, at church, or just out and about. Is what I am doing for selfish reasons or to glorify Christ. Do I want to be a manager because of the prestige it will bring me or to give God a better place to spread His word than at the position I currently hold. Am I building up someone else or myself? It is all in the motive of the heart. My best witness is in my everyday actions not in any big event performance. A former pastor of mine instilled this on me, " it doesn't matter if your profession is cleaning out manure in stalls or cutting diamonds do it all as if for GOD."
